About this file

This is a Location Specification Sheet (LSS) from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for janitorial and grounds maintenance services at the Baraga Cliffs Roadside Park. The contract is for a three-year term from April 30, 2021, to April 29, 2024, with two one-year renewal options. The services are to be performed seven days per week before 10:00 a.m. at the park located 6 miles north of Baraga on US-41. The facility includes one toilet building with two tissue holders, two hand sanitizer dispensers, two trash barrels, six picnic tables, six picnic grills/stoves, and one toilet vault with 1,500-gallon capacity. The scope includes daily janitorial tasks, weekly grounds maintenance, and periodic services such as vault pumping, roof sweeping, and seasonal cleanup of approximately one acre of mowable area.

The pricing structure requires bidders to provide monthly rates for basic janitorial services, per-service rates for periodic janitorial tasks, and per-cycle rates for grounds maintenance (26 cycles annually). The contractor is responsible for providing toilet paper, trash barrel liners, deodorant/disinfectant, and cleaning supplies, while MDOT provides graffiti remover, vault toilet chemicals, and hand sanitizer dispensers with refills. All cleaning supplies must be pre-approved by the Program Manager, and Safety Data Sheets must be maintained on site. Quick payment terms are available with a discount option for early payment, though the specific percentage and timeframe are to be specified by the bidder.
