About this file
This document appears to be a background summary for a state and local contract opportunity related to upgrading the sewer control panel at the South Fork Forest Camp, a minimum-security work camp in Tillamook, Oregon. The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) has contracted AKS Engineering to provide specifications for a complete replacement of the existing sewer panel, which has suffered from multiple failures leading to high pumping costs. The new system must interface with the current wastewater treatment field devices and sensors and have the capability to send telemetry either remotely or through a data cable to the maintenance building.
The document does not provide information on pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding requirements and sources, or other salient commercial details. It focuses entirely on the technical requirements and background for the sewer control panel upgrade project.

Background
Location:
48300 Wilson River Hwy, Tillamook, OR 97141-9799
South Fork Forest Camp
About the facility:
South Fork Forest Camp (SFFC) is a minimum-security work camp located approximately 28 miles east of Tillamook, just off of Highway 6 along the Wilson River Highway. SFFC was established in 1951 and is a satellite facility of Columbia River Correctional Institution (CRCI), a minimum-security facility located in Portland. SFFC is managed jointly with the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF).
Issue:
The SFFC sewer control panel has outdated software that needs to be modernized and programmed with industry-standard hardware and software. The RSV had failed and was not allowing treated effluent to be sent to the drain field properly. The system has suffered from multiple failures over the past few years, and this has led to considerable costs in pumping fees. The particulate counts are closely monitored by DEQ to prevent contamination in the protected Wilson River adjacent to the camp. The system currently has a temporary panel in place to keep levels within allowable limits.
Repair:
The ODOC has contracted AKS Engineering to provide specifications for the wastewater treatment panel.
This will include a complete replacement of the existing sewer panel. The new system must be able to interface with the current wastewater treatment field devices and sensors. The new system shall have the option of sending telemetry either remotely or through a data cable to the maintenance building.
