Section: Technical Overview
Discussion: TRL 5+, but it says the EDUs could go into a testbed or demo mission?
Does this mean we have to space qualify our EDUs?
Are there interface or SWaP requirements for integration into the test bed or demo that is mentioned?
Interfaces are shown as TBD in the technical requirements. There is a difference between TRL 5+ for a test bed vs something for a demo system. Which one are you asking for, or are you asking for both?
Answer: The EDU does not have to be space qualified, however a path to space qualification at the goals documents levels must be identified. ORDWG shall be radiation hardened by design/process to the level stated in the requirements document. For the purposes of building the EDU, if non-radhard parts are utilized, the contractor must identify the prospective radhard which would meet the radhard levels identified. Furthermore performance of the commercial/non-radhard component must be derated to the level of performance of the radhard component. Interfaces to the ORDWG will be determined by PDR, and agreed upon by the government and contractor team.
