The scope of work includes furnishing and installing brass pendant, upright, and sidewall sprinkler heads rated 160 degrees Fahrenheit and above for general storage occupancy areas, with 280-degree Fahrenheit rated heads installed near heating equipment. All work must comply with NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 standards, CMS Physical Environment requirements, and CMHC facility rules. Work is permitted Monday through Friday only during designated windows of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with work prohibited on weekends and state and federal holidays. The project requires one-week advance notice for initial start and one-workday notice for scheduled work. Upon completion, the contractor must provide documentation to the Chief Engineer confirming all basement-level replacements, specifications of installed heads, and verification of post-work testing and system restoration.

The contractor must be licensed and qualified in fire suppression system work, with NICET certification preferred, and must perform at least 51 percent of the work on-site as actual labor (excluding materials). The prime vendor is responsible for furnishing all required sprinkler head wrenches, spare wrenches (to be turned over to the facility), and six spare sprinkler heads of each type installed. All removed sprinkler heads must also be turned over to the facility. The contractor shall coordinate all system drainage and outages with facility engineering, follow NFPA 25 impairment procedures including notifications and fire watch provisions where applicable, and maintain continuous communication with the Chief Engineer or designated representative. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes is mandatory, and the contractor must ensure safe working conditions with minimal disruption to facility operations, removing debris and maintaining a clean work environment daily.
