About this file
This is Addendum #2 to the bid package for the Sperling Sports Complex Parking Improvements project issued by the City of DeLand, Florida Finance Department. The project encompasses improvements to the existing asphalt parking lot and addition of durable drive aisles, with key items including mobilization, sediment barrier installation, clearing and grubbing, excavation (750 cubic yards each of regular and borrow), concrete paving (76 square yards of 6-inch thick), turf sodding (6,635 square yards of Bahia sod), permeable turf stabilizer grid installation (27,939 square feet), fencing (880 linear feet), concrete bumper guards (174 units), pavement markings and thermoplastic striping, and ground sign assembly and relocation. The proposal opening date and time is December 16, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
This addendum provides clarification regarding the permeable grid paver specifications and installation requirements. The unit bid requires the Ecoraster E40 permeable grid pavers installed per the Construction Plans using sandy loam fill at 70-80% compaction to accommodate Bahia sod root establishment, with technical assistance available from Ferguson's Eric Smith at (407) 276-2607. An approved alternate product, TrueGrid ROOT, is also permitted, and bidders must provide both a unit price and extended price for the complete installation of this alternate product as line item 999-5, as it differs in cost and installation methodology. The addendum includes a summary of all pay items with quantities and space for unit and extended pricing, along with a 5 percent contingency allowance. All other terms and conditions of the original bid package remain unchanged.

December 11, 2025 Addendum #2

This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original Bid package for the above-mentioned Bid. Contractors are requested to acknowledge receipt of this Addendum with their

CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS ASKED RECEIVED:
1. Question: There isn't a line item for the rock to fill in the pavers. Should we just include that in the overall BID is there a specific stone you prefer?
Answer:
Ecoraster E40
The Permeable Grid Pavers for the Unit Bid (Ecoraster E40) are to be installed as per the method outlined on sheet 7 of the project’s Construction Plans under Permeable Turf Stabilizer Grid
Sequence of Construction. This is based on the “Ecoraster Green” method with DIY Greened filling as described in the product’s installation guide. The fill is to be soil that accommodates
Bahia Sod root establishment yet can also be compacted to a rate that provides stability to the grid; such as Sandy Loam at 70-80%. Detailed product information and installation planning assistance can be obtained from the manufacturer or Eric Smith at Ferguson, (407) 276-2607.

TrueGrid ROOT (Approved Equal/Alternate via Addendum #1)
The Permeable Grid Pavers for the approved, alternate product (TrueGrid ROOT) are to be installed as per the product’s installation guide. The base material/soil should be compacted to a rate that provides stability yet still accommodates Bahia Sod root establishment. Detailed product information and installation planning assistance can be obtained from the manufacturer’s
Engineer, Chris White, P.E., at (832) 292-5121. https://www.truegridpaver.com/products/root/
*Please note there is a difference in cost and installation method/sequence for these two products.
The Unit Bid is to include the Ecoraster E40 permeable grid. Please provide an alternate unit and extended price for line item #999-5 for the complete installation of the approved equal/alternate product TrueGrid ROOT permeable grid.
