About this file
This is a Statement of Work for road rehabilitation projects at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge in Puxico, Missouri. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking contractor quotes to complete gravel road rehabilitation on up to 8.35 miles of roads within the refuge. The project consists of four road segments: Redmill Drive 1st Segment (1.2 miles, 14 feet wide), Redmill Drive 2nd Segment (2.1 miles, 14 feet wide), Redmill Drive 3rd Segment (1.8 miles, 14 feet wide), and Sandblow Ridge Road (3.25 miles, 14 feet wide). All work must be completed by October 15, 2026.
The primary scope of work requires contractors to haul and tailgate spread 4 inches of one inch minus aggregate along the entire road surface of all four segments, with an estimated requirement of approximately 1,100 tons of aggregate per mile. The contractor is responsible for providing all materials, equipment, and incidental costs and must repair any damage to existing gravel roads caused during the project. The contractor must notify Mingo NWR contacts (Corey Kudrna, Deputy Refuge Manager, 573-225-1535, or Ben Mense, Refuge Manager, 573-225-4504) at least 48 hours before beginning work. Site pre-bid visits are highly recommended. All equipment must be cleaned before and after site entry to prevent spread of noxious and invasive species, and work must be conducted to minimize rutting, soil disturbance, and compaction. Payment will be processed following submission of proper invoices and inspection of work for compliance.
