Statement of Work (SOW) Hazardous Waste Removal Services
Yosemite National Park
1.0 Background
The National Park Service (NPS) at Yosemite National Park (YNP) operates similarly to a municipal entity, encompassing facility and fleet management functions that generate various waste streams. Due to the volume of hazardous waste produced monthly, YNP is classified as a Large Quantity Generator (LQG) under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) depending on seasonal operations and monthly accumulations. As an SQG/LQG, YNP must comply with stringent federal and state regulations, including the 90-day accumulation limits, respectively, for hazardous waste at the primary storage location.
Under RCRA, hazardous waste generators are responsible for the entire lifecycle of the waste— from generation through final disposal—commonly referred to as the “cradle-to-grave” responsibility. This includes proper handling, storage, transportation, treatment, and disposal in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
2.0 Scope of Work
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the compliant removal, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste generated at Yosemite National Park. Waste types and estimated quantities are detailed in the attached estimated Price Schedule. The estimated price schedule should be used for reference only as quantities and material vary from pick-up to pick-up.
The Contractor must demonstrate a proven track record of regulatory compliance and operational excellence in hazardous waste management, in accordance with:
