About this file
This document is a comprehensive technical specification for replacing septic systems at two properties within Cape Cod National Seashore: Delfino (880 Cable Road, Eastham) and Eggleston-2 (320 Nellie Road, Wellfleet), Massachusetts. The project involves obtaining required permits from MassDEP and the National Park Service, removing and abandoning existing septic systems, installing new septic tanks, piping, leach fields, and electrical components, and performing trench work, backfilling, grading, surface restoration, and replanting. Additional options include well abandonment, installing a new potable water service connection from the Eastham public water main, and providing one-year post-installation guaranteed period services that include maintenance, water sampling, testing, and quarterly reporting to the Contracting Officer and MassDEP.
The specification details technical requirements across multiple divisions including general requirements, existing conditions, electrical work, earthwork, exterior improvements, and utilities. Key technical specifications cover septic system components, electrical connections, excavation and backfill procedures, and restoration requirements. Specific technical elements include low-pressure effluent pumps, alarm panels, electrical service connections, and nitrate treatment systems. The project emphasizes compliance with local and state regulations, environmental protection, and comprehensive documentation of all installation and testing procedures.
