About this file
This is a Pre/Post Trolley Inspection Sheet template designed for the daily operational inspection of National Park Service buses (trolleys) at Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, Massachusetts. The sheet provides a comprehensive checklist for drivers to document vehicle conditions before and after each service day, with designated columns to mark defects identified during pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
The inspection checklist covers critical safety and operational systems including belts and hoses, fluid levels (water, coolant, oil, power steering), lighting systems (head lamps, turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, backup lights, clearance lights), emergency equipment (fire extinguisher, first aid kit, emergency exits and lights, emergency reflectors), passenger safety features (seatbelts, seatbelt cutter, wheelchair restraints and interlock systems, wheelchair lift and crank clearance), interior components (radio, horn, wipers/washers, air conditioning, heater/defroster, gauge readings for oil pressure, voltage, fuel, and temperature), seating (driver and passenger seats), and exterior condition (glass, mirrors, body damage, proper decals, and cleanliness). The template includes specific definitions distinguishing normal wear and tear—such as scratches under 1 inch through clear coat, scratches not through clear coat removable by polishing, minor door scuffs and dents under 2 inches without cracked paint, and removable deposits—from abnormal wear and tear requiring repair, including scratches over 2 inches through clear coat, dents over 2 inches, cracked paint, burnt-in deposits, rust spots, and excessive abrasions. A section for description of defects and other comments is provided at the bottom of the sheet.
