About this file

This is a mowing price schedule for Carlsbad Caverns National Park containing three service locations under Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 00010. The contractor must provide mowing services across three distinct areas: the Picnic Area–Developed Landscape (84,291 SF), Main Entrance Road and Walnut Canyon Road roadside shoulders (7 miles × 2 sides), and Historic Pond, Orchard, and House Landscape (237,800 SF). All work must be performed between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with services required seasonally from April through November.

The Picnic Area requires up to six mowings annually between April 15 and September 15, including turf mowing, a 6-foot earthen ditch on the south side, careful mowing around approximately 63 cottonwood trees, trimming around site furnishings, and clipping removal from hard surfaces. The roadside shoulders require two mowings annually (one in June/July and one in October/November) with a 4-foot cut width, traffic control measures including a safety vehicle with amber lights, MUTCD-compliant signage, and high-visibility PPE. The Historic Pond, Orchard, and House Landscape area requires up to six mowings annually with no work between June 15 and July 1, using lightweight equipment to protect historic features, pond banks, orchard trees, irrigation systems, and cultural structures, maintaining a 3–5 inch grass height. Contractors may submit alternative pricing sheets. The total price for CLIN 00010 must be entered on the schedule.
