About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the comprehensive rebuild of Yellowstone National Park's 2005 Pierce Contender Engine 4, aimed at extending the vehicle's service life by 15 years. The rebuild requires full compliance with NFPA 1912 standards and includes extensive refurbishment tasks across multiple systems, such as cooling, engine, transmission, suspension, brake systems, electrical components, and fire pump equipment. Key modifications include replacing emergency and auxiliary lighting with LED systems, updating SCBA seat brackets, installing GPS and monitoring systems, and addressing specific damage repairs.
The project has a 180-day performance period, with potential adjustments for supply chain issues. Contractors must be certified and perform all work to specific welding and technical standards, including American Welding Society specifications. The SOW includes optional pricing for potential additional repairs like pump rebuilds, transmission rebuilds, battery replacement, and tire replacement. Detailed photographic documentation accompanies the document, showing the current condition of the fire apparatus from multiple angles and highlighting specific areas requiring repair or modification.
