About this file
This is a Statement of Work addressing accountability instructions for Government Furnished Materiel (GFM) in federal defense contracts.
The document establishes that contractors receiving GFM for incorporation or consumption must maintain official property records in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 45. Accountability for the materiel transfers to the contractor upon receipt. Contractors are required to report consumption of GFM through the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) using DD Form 1423 (DIMGMT-80438B), which provides transaction reporting necessary for accurate physical and fiscal accounting of materiel in contractor possession. This reporting mechanism ensures proper tracking and accountability of government-provided materials throughout the contract performance period.
