About this file

This document is an Analysis Report from Schneider Laboratories Global, Inc. that provides the results of a Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) analysis on three samples of composite shingle material collected from the Baker Beach location in San Francisco, California. The analysis found no asbestos present in any of the three samples, which consisted of layers of bituminous felt paper, mineral/glass wool, and non-fibrous material.

The related federal contract opportunity is for the Renewal of the Baker Beach Restroom Facility, a solicitation (140P8624R0022) issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Pacific West Region. The contract requires the refurbishment of a heavily used public restroom facility located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area at Baker Beach.

Reporting Limit: 1% Gravimetrically Reduced Reporting Limit: 0.01% PLM analysis is based on Visual Estimation and NESHAP recommends that any friable sample with an asbestos content less than 10 percent be verified by Point Count or TEM Analysis. The EPA recommends that any attic loose fill vermiculite should be treated as asbestos containing material. This report must not be reproduced except in full with the approval of the laboratory. The test results apply to the sample as received.
