About this file

The provided document is a PowerPoint slide deck for the Advanced Water Purification (AWP) Demonstration Facility project by Tucson Water, located in Tucson, Arizona. The project involves constructing a 2.5 million gallon per day demonstration facility at the Agua Nueva Water Reclamation Facility to purify recycled water to drinking water standards. Construction tasks include developing a new public tour entrance and visitor center, installing advanced treatment equipment in an existing filter building, and improving the parking lot and site infrastructure. The facility aims to verify treatment performance, support operator training, and serve as a community engagement center. The project is scheduled for completion by 2031, with construction potentially beginning earlier than the proposed date.

The project is funded through a federal grant from the United States Bureau of Reclamation, with an estimated total construction cost of $10 million and a conceptual design cost of approximately $5.3 million. The procurement includes a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) program with specific requirements for contractor involvement. The recommended treatment approach is a reverse osmosis-based treatment train, featuring microfiltration/ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet advanced oxidation process, and optional granular activated carbon treatment. Potential cost savings of around $350,000 may be achieved if Tucson Water purchases major equipment directly. Interested firms must submit Statements of Qualifications by October 23, 2025, with a pre-submittal meeting scheduled for September 30, 2025, and an on-site visit planned for October 2, 2025.
