About this file
This is a Geothermal Heat Pump Replacements Specification document for federal contract opportunity 140FGA26Q0065 issued by the Rainwater Basin Water Management District (NE). The specification establishes technical requirements for three geothermal water-to-air heat pump units to replace existing HVAC systems.
The specification requires WaterFurnance or comparable equipment with the following salient characteristics: Unit 1 (2.5-ton capacity), Unit 2 (3-ton capacity), and Unit 3 (3.5-ton capacity). All units must utilize R-454B refrigerant, dual-stage scroll compressors or equivalent dual-capacity compressor technology, and operate on 208–230V, 60 Hz single-phase electrical supply. Required components include variable-speed ECM blower motors, copper water-coil heat exchangers, 2" MERV 11 filters or higher, and advanced microprocessor-based unit controllers with performance monitoring, refrigeration and fault diagnostics, and communicating capability with thermostats or Building Automation Systems. Additional requirements include Electronic Expansion Valves for refrigerant metering, integrated soft-start devices to reduce compressor inrush current, standard/uncoated air coils, 1" MPT × 1" insert flow center connector kits, and color touchscreen programmable communicating thermostats compatible with unit controls.
