Section 103. — SCOPE OF WORK
103.01 The project includes, but not limited to, the following work.
Summary: This project includes trail improvements of approximately 7,925 feet of the Fairbank Trail Way at a proscribe resurfacing width of eight foot (see segment table) with an additional two-foot side slope see Figure 5 for clearing and drainage purposes. The non-motorized recreational trail is used for hiking, equestrians, and mountain biking. The material to be used for all proposed maintenance and improvements will be ABC 1" crushed rock aggregate and achieve 90% compaction with proper slopes to ensure drainage is adequate.
Water may be provided from multiple water hydrants located throughout Town Site at the permission and ownership of
BLM.
Description of Work: Furnish all transportation, labor, equipment, materials, supplies and traffic control. Prepare the subgrade and install aggregate resurfacing of existing trail system as described in the specifications and shown on the Maps and Drawings. Work will include but not limited to the installation of proposed aggregate in one lift until the proposed 6-inch total resurfacing is achieved. Standard size and conventional equipment may not be suitable since the dense vegetation growth throughout the trail may require the use of compact earth moving equipment instead.
Fairbank Trail ADA Maintenance KMZ file: It is recommended that potential solicitors to this project request the KMZ file that pacifically outlines work to be done. To open the KMZ file the solicitor will need to have Google Earth pro software to be able to view the map and use all its functions to better understand the entire scope of work. Only upon request the Contracting Officer (CO) shall provide the KMZ file.
Important Note: “No work shall be performed during the March 1 – August 31 breeding bird period to avoid potential impacts to yellow-billed cuckoo and Southwestern willow flycatcher.”
103.02 Location of Project
The project is on federal lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area in the vicinity of the Fairbank Historic Townsite.
