In CA-02.04: On opening rotation, AO-02.04-999 Negro in Our History (book as artifact, signed by Woodson) will be displayed open, on top the stack of books. When the artifact must be removed from view due to conservation concerns, CE-02.04-013 Negro in Our History (book as prop) will be rotated in, closed, on top this stack. Therefore, the stack of books is essentially a riser for the display book(s), and needs to be stabilized, secured, and leveled without permanently impacting the artifact chair. The stack of books itself can be “sacrificed” to achieve this condition.
| CE-02.04-013 can also be used to create CE-04.03-001 if another copy of this book is not located. Fabricator is to please scan the cover of the bookjacket, and use the image file to create a graphic that will wrap a “dummy book” insert. That prop book will then be sealed for tactile display and mounted to the exhibit wall, within reach of visitors. | H+R | Display book closed, upright 6 degrees off vertical, on top of stack of books sitting on desk chair. | ||||||||
