Backlighting LED for SEG (perimeter of frame)

BAC KIlT POSSIBILITIES BACKLIT POSSIBILITIES

Stand out from the crowd by adding lighting to your fabric frame. Don’t know where to start? When determining the best lighting for your SEG frame, there are five key factors to consider: environment, imagery, brightness, budget, and lifespan. Competing light sources in your current environment are important, as well as the imagery style you choose for your fabric and the brightness you wish to portray. Your budget and expected lifespan of the frame go hand-in-hand, and we will help guide the way when it is time to make a decision.

3.01 Inspection

(a) Installer shall inspect all areas and conditions under which vinyl wallcoverings are to be installed. Installer shall notify the contrac-tor and architect in writing of any conditions detrimental to the proper and timely completion of the installation;work will proceed only when conditions have been corrected and accepted by the installer.

(b) Substrate shall be checked with a suitable “Moisture Meter”. Moisture shall not exceed 4%.

3.02 Surface Preparation

(a) Wall surfaces shall be free from defects and imperfections that could show through the finished covered surface.

(b) Sand-finished plaster shall be smoothed, cin-der or cement blocks shall be plastered, or otherwise rendered smooth, and old wallcover-ings shall be removed.

(c) For new drywall construction,manufactur-er’s recommended primer should be used before application of wallcovering for ease of future removal when redecorating.

(d) Glossy surfaces shall either be sanded to dull surface, or a coat of manufacturer’s recom-mended primer applied prior to installation of wallcovering.

(e) If there is any evidence of mildew, it must be removed and the wall surface treated to inhibit further mildew growth.

(f) All painted surfaces should be evaluated for the possibility of pigment bleed-through. If there is any possibility, a coat of sealer, recom-mended by the manufacturer, should be applied before application of the wallcovering.

(g) Do not install vinyl wallcovering over oil-based wood stains as a bleed-through may occur.

3.03 Installation

(a) Wallcovering shall be installed by experi-enced workers and contractors in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s printed instructions using vinyl wallcovering adhesive recommended by the manufacturer (WHEAT PASTE SHALL NOT BE USED). It is absolutely imperative that installer read the manufacturer’s instruction sheet in each roll before installing the vinyl wallcovering.

Permanent building light shall be available for installation.

(b) Installer, before cutting, shall examine pat-tern and color and determine that they are the correct pattern and color as specified.

(c) Installer shall install each roll in sequence starting with largest roll number and each strip in same sequence as cut from roll. If pattern is not random, examine for repeat design. Some patterns should be lined up,matched or reversed for best results. If necessary, trim sel-vage deep enough to assure color uniformity.

(d) After application of three strips, an inspec-tion should be made and if there are any variations in color or pattern which are felt to be excessive, the wallcovering distributor or manufacturer’s representative should be noti-fied for his inspection before any further wallcovering is installed.

(e) Always bring material six (6) inches around inside and outside corners being sure to fir into corners to avoid bridging or spanning.

(f) The wallcovering should be smoothed to the hanging surface with a stiff bristled sweep brush or a flexible broad-knife to eliminate air bubbles.

(g) Remove excess adhesive along finished seam immediately after each wallcovering strip is applied.Use of clean, warm water, a natural sponge and clean towels are recommended for this use. It is very important to change water often to maintain cleanliness.

3.04 Clean-up Completion

Upon completion of work, remove surplus materials, rubbish and debris, resulting from the wallcovering installation.Leave areas in neat, clean and orderly condition.

AND STORAGE

TEMPERATURE

MATERIAL

THICKNESS

PRINT OPTIONS

Material temperature range for installation and application considerations is -15 to 160 degrees F. Although Floorscapes remains flexible in cold, shock cracking can occur.

65 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit

Printers Note: Cooler temperatures can slow the recovery rate for the material to lay flat, resulting in a “wavy” material lay down appearance. Slightly warming the material will quickly bring it to a relaxed state for optimum printing characteristics. For optimal results, allow Floorscapes to acclimate to room temperature prior to printing.

0.070” (70mil) base thickness

Floorscapes™ is designed for Digital and Screen Printing processes. Other processes may apply with customer approved testing results.

Floorscapes™ is best suited for second surface printing. Second surface printing is executed by printing the mirror image to the underside of the material, then applying a layer of white ink or a white backer.

Digital Printing: Flatbed and Roll to Roll printers that can print material thicker than 0.060” with solvent or UV inks are compatible with this media. For ink curing, it is recommended that the heat does not exceed 180 degrees F. Excessive heat from UV curing systems can cause a cupping effect on the material. Increasing the speed of the print carriage and/or decreasing number of passes will resolve excessive heat related issues.

Caution: Material can be damaged with excessive heat from curing or excessive bed temperature.

jeff

WHITE BACKER The best application of white ink for image contrast is achieved with a direct print on UV printing equipment.

FINISHING Flatbed finishing equipment with reciprocating knives is recommended. The use of excessive heat from routing may cause the material to produce an undesirable edge.

Routing is not recommended for use with Floorscapes; however, Cold Steel Rule Die Cutting is approved.

Instructions to Bracket Mount

1. To ensure proper operation of the slides, make certain that all bracket mounting screws are inserted so that the screw heads are inside the slides. (No washers on the inside of the slides.)

2. Using mounting kits and brackets, mount brackets to slide cabinet members (largest). For adjustment purposes, screw the back brackets on loosely.

3. Install slides into EIA rack with #10-32 screws (customer supplied) and secure with bar nuts. Rear adjustment is possible by aligning the back bracket. Do not tighten screws until final adjustment is made.

4. Mount slide drawer members (smallest) to the chassis.

Position slides 1/8" from the front edge of the chassis making sure both slides are parallel.

5. It may be necessary to use a hoist for positioning and aligning the chassis when the weight exceeds 50 lbs.

Check slide alignment by opening and closing the chassis.

Any sign of binding indicates lateral stress or misalignment.

6. Adjust slide position until movement is smooth. Tighten all screws and if necessary use more screws to secure slides and complete installation.

Distributor (D) Pack: All lengths are packaged 5 pair per box. Polybag includes one pair of slides packaged with slide mounting screws and installation instructions.

3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Basic Use: ToughGard Rigid Liner

Board with Enhanced Surface is a high-quality acoustical and thermal board type insulation used primarily for lining the interior of HVAC sheet metal ducts and plenums to absorb unwanted crosstalk, equipment and air rush noise.

This product performs in most types of heating and cooling systems operating at velocities up to 6,000 fpm (30.5 m/s) and temperatures to 250˚F (121˚C).

Benefits: ToughGard Rigid Liner Board with Enhanced Surface improves energy efficiency by reducing heat gain or loss. The product can be precision cut using both manual and automatic cut-ting equipment, and is durable and easy to clean.

Composition and Materials: Com-posed of glass fibers firmly bonded together with a thermosetting resin into a rigid board-type insulation. The air-stream surface contains an EPA regis-tered antimicrobial agent, in order to reduce the potential of microbial growth that may affect this product. The antimicrobial properties are intended to only protect this product.

Limitations: Insulation should be kept clean and dry during shipping, stor-age, installation and system operation.

Sizes: Available sizes as noted in the table on the back. Contact CertainTeed for availability and mini-mum order quantities.
