About this file

This document is an attachment detailing drive axle tire specifications for a municipal procurement opportunity involving tire procurement for refuse, sanitation, and extreme service vehicles. The specifications are comprehensive, requiring Tier I premium tires from specific manufacturers (Goodyear/Dunlop, Michelin/BF Goodrich, or Bridgestone/Firestone) for drive position on/off road radial tires. Specific tire sizes are outlined, including 11R22.5, 315/80R22.5, and 425/65R22.5, with detailed requirements for load ranges, minimum ply ratings, and tread depths. The document mandates tires be new, radial, tubeless, and manufactured with optimized tread compounds suitable for extreme service applications.

The specifications are extremely precise, requiring tires to have full-width protector plies, three-steel belt construction, rectangular or rounded bead structures, side wall wear indicators, and curb guards. Suppliers must produce tires that meet on/off highway use specifications and demonstrate exceptional traction in mixed and severe service environments. The procurement requires manufacturers to provide first-line quality tires that promote retreadability and protect working plies from impacts. While no specific pricing or budget information is provided in this attachment, the document indicates that any exceptions to the specified requirements must be pre-approved by the purchasing entity, with manufacturers required to submit detailed exemption letters for alternative specifications.
