About this file

This document is an Attachment I specification for steer axle tires, associated with a procurement opportunity for the City of Edinburg Solid Waste Management Department. The specification details requirements for new tire purchases, focusing on refuse/sanitation and extreme service tires with strict quality standards. Acceptable tire manufacturers are limited to Goodyear/Dunlop, Michelin/BF Goodrich, and Bridgestone/Firestone, with specific model requirements for tire sizes including 11R22.5, 315/80R22.5, 385/65R22.5, and 425/65R22.5. The document outlines comprehensive technical specifications including tire construction, tread depth, load range, and performance expectations for on/off highway use.

The specification mandates that all tires must be Tier I Premium "First Line Quality" tires, with requirements such as radial and tubeless design, optimized tread compound, full width protector ply, minimum three steel belt construction, side wall wear indicators, and curb guards. Suppliers may be required to submit proof of specification compliance, and any exceptions must be pre-approved by the city. The document emphasizes the need for tires manufactured for extreme service applications, with a focus on durability, retreadability, and performance in mixed and aggressive road conditions. Bidders must carefully complete all line items, as incomplete submissions may result in bid rejection.
