About this file
This Statement of Work details the requirements for drydocking and repair services for the PF204 Patrol Boat, a 41-foot aluminum hull vessel owned by the Maritime Administration (MARAD). The contractor must provide labor and materials for a 45-day drydocking period at their Hampton Roads area facility, with work including hull cleaning and painting, plate renewal, ultrasonic testing, zinc replacements, fuel tank cleaning, and various mechanical system inspections and repairs.
Specific requirements include replacing both docking light covers on the bow, performing 100 ultrasonic test readings of the vessel's structure, replacing multiple sea valves and hoses, resealing cabin windows, replacing hatch gaskets, and converting engine exhaust piping from aluminum to fiberglass. The painting scope requires abrasive blasting and applying multiple coats of specified Sherwin Williams marine coatings, including antifouling paint below the waterline. Major mechanical work includes removing, inspecting, and reinstalling the rudders, propellers, and propeller shafts, with new bearings and government-furnished zinc anodes to be installed. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, including cranes and compressed air, while following applicable regulatory requirements from USCG, ABYC, OSHA, and other authorities.
