About this file

This document is an operational standards attachment for the Kentucky state parks system, specifically outlining standards for Kentucky Heritage Park (KHP) campground operations. The standards establish comprehensive operational requirements and service level expectations for campground management, including facility maintenance, customer service protocols, reservation system functionality, and staff qualifications. The operational standards document serves as a framework to guide campground operations and define performance metrics that contractors must meet throughout the contract term. The document covers various operational aspects essential to maintaining consistent service quality across Kentucky's heritage park campground facilities, though specific contract term length, renewal options, and response deadlines are not detailed within this standards attachment.

The operational standards focus on establishing uniform service delivery benchmarks, including facility cleanliness, campground amenities maintenance, staff responsiveness, and reservation system performance requirements. These standards establish the baseline operational expectations that the selected campground reservation management system vendor and campground operations contractor must comply with throughout contract execution. The document does not contain specific pricing information, set-asides, incumbent contractor details, or funding amounts, as it functions as a performance standards reference document rather than a primary solicitation or contract document. Implementation of these standards ensures accountability and consistent customer experience across Kentucky's heritage park campground operations.

Text version

Each staff position, and staff person, is unique.

This uniqueness provides us with varying views, thoughts, strengths, and weaknesses. Like the countless breeds represented at the Park, we celebrate our individual diversity, while recognizing that there is strength in a herd. Our affinity for the horse binds us together, and we know that we are BETTER TOGETHER!

Since our inception, we have provided authentic experiences for guests to engage our equestrian community (trolley tours, carriage rides, demos, events, etc.). We will continue to honor that history.

To provide authentic service, our guest interactions should embrace our distinctiveness and be welcoming, engaging, courteous, and present.

Our collective success is tied to our individual influence.

Taking ownership of present opportunities (big or small) reduces assumptions and complacency. To be responsive and responsible means that we will not be passive, watching others from the outside. Rather, we will take the lead line, leave the barn, and hit the trails.

We recognize our guests have options before visiting the Park. Likewise, our co-workers make our work enjoyable.

Gratitude is a healthy life-style choice and contagious to everyone around. Showing gratitude mends fences, and builds paddocks. Like treats for our horses, gratitude is always appreciated.
