About this file

This document outlines identification requirements for accessing Naval Nuclear Submarine Base (NNSY), a secure federal military facility. Effective May 7, 2025, individuals must present either a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID card, or another federally approved form of identification to enter the facility or board domestic flights.

To obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential for NNSY access, individuals must provide one of two options: (1) a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID card, or (2) a non-REAL ID document paired with both a birth certificate and social security card presented together. Acceptable secondary forms of identification include birth certificates, social security cards, retired or active duty military spouse/dependent IDs, Veterans Health Identification Cards, passports or passport cards, Permanent Resident cards (Form I-551), Certificates of Naturalization (Form N-550), and Certificates of Citizenship (Form 560).
