About this file
This document is an accessioned objects schedule listing artifacts in the collections of Monocacy National Battlefield. It includes over 180 artifacts ranging from shoes, canteens, firearms and ammunition to uniforms, documents, and currency. The artifacts are cataloged with identification numbers, descriptions of when and where they were found, and proposed locations for exhibit. Accompanying federal contract opportunity 140P2123R0072 from the Department of the Interior National Park Service solicits fabrication of exhibits at Monocacy National Battlefield to feature these artifacts telling the stories of the Civil War Battle of Monocacy and its aftermath. The schedule provides relevant details on the artifacts to inform exhibit design and construction requirements.

AO-03.05-240 Rifle butt Rifle butt found by maintenance worker, Rodney Dill, on the Thomas Farm, in 2001, the year the farm went under life estate by the park service. Rodney said it was found about 75 yds. from the culvert, going toward the house. It was on a limb of a tree, the second or third one on the left after the culvert. The limb the rifle butt was on was dead, and the tree itself had grown into the artifact. The tree was later removed as it was a hazard.
