About this file
This document is Attachment D for a City of Stonecrest municipal project detailing specifications for two gazebo installations at Salem Road Park and Fairington Road Park. The project requires constructing identical gazebo structures, each measuring 20 feet by 24 feet, with wooden structural members, a metal standing seam green roof, concrete flooring, and specific architectural details including 5x5 inch laminated posts, matching top and bottom railings, and no screens or cupola. Each gazebo will be equipped with two ceiling-mounted 52-inch electrical fans, four electrical outlets, a lightning rod and grounding system, and must comply with local building codes and the National Electrical Code.
The electrical specifications require a 120-volt AC circuit for each gazebo, with fans featuring integrated LED lighting, wall-mounted controls, and an automatic shut-off after one hour. The electrical outlets must be IP66 rated, corrosion and UV-resistant, and include Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) technology. The project also mandates specific wood stain requirements, including a semi-transparent, UV-resistant, LEED-compliant, water-based product to protect the wooden structure. A Georgia-registered structural engineer must prepare and stamp the complete set of plans for City of Stonecrest review and building permit acquisition, with the City responsible for electrical billing after project completion.

ATTACHMENT “D”
GAZEBO RENDERING AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS
One gazebo will be installed at the Salem Road Park and another gazebo is to be installed at the Fairington Road Park.
The gazebo to be installed is to have a minimum covered area of 20 feet x 24 feet and shall have wooden structural members. The same type of gazebo is to be installed in each park.
Gazebo will be similar to the illustrative renderings in Figures 1 and 2 below.

Requirements
Wood Stain
Semi-transparent clear wood stain shall be used.
Stain shall protect brand wood from premature graying, mildew growth, cracking, swelling and warping caused by water absorption and shall have the following properties:
• UV Resistant
• LEED Compliant
• Water Based
Flooring
No gazebo floor decking is required. The floor of the gazebo shall be concrete with a smooth finish.
Minimum concrete floor thickness shall be 6 inches. Minimum concrete strength shall be 3,000 psi @ 28 days. Concrete joints shall be provided in floors to manage stress and movement within the concrete slab, preventing cracking and ensuring structural integrity. Details of joint types and spacing shall be designed by the structural engineer. Amount and type of steel slab reinforcement shall be specified by structural design engineer.
Roofing
3 | P a g e
Gazebo shall have a metal standing seam roof made with minimum 29-gauge, high-tensile steel. Standing seam roofs shall have no visible fasteners and may require on-site cutting by an installer.
Roof color shall be a close match to the existing green metal roof of existing structure on site.
Figure 4 - Existing structure on site with green roof
In the event an exact color match cannot be obtained the new roof color shall be coordinated with the City Engineer.
Roofing panels shall be resistant to dents and expansion or contraction with the changing weather.
Key features include:
• Panels shall be dent resistant
• Panels shall be coated with Galvalume® – an aluminum/zinc alloy that provides extra protection.
• Panels shall be bonded and sealed with epoxy primer, providing flexibility and an excellent base for the final coat of paint.
• Panels shall be coated with pigmented silicone polyester for increased strength, hardness, and durability against the elements.
Ceiling
No celling shall be installed in the gazebo. The rafters and the underside of the roof decking will be exposed.
Post and Height
Gazebo shall be equipped with minimum 5 in. x 5 in. laminated posts as a standard feature. Boards used for lamination shall be hand selected to minimal knots. Minimum headroom under top rail shall be 6 ft. 6 in.
Cupola
No cupola shall be used on the gazebo.
Screens
4 | P a g e
No screens should be installed.
Railings
Top railing sections matching the bottom railing style shall be used.
Bottom rail minimum height is 32 in.
Brace
Standard braces shall be used.
Structure and Foundations
Foundations for each gazebo structure shall be designed by a structural engineer. Foundation and other structural details including member sizes, anchor bolts and connections shall be designed and detailed by a structural engineer to comply with City of Stonecrest building code.
Drawings
A complete set of plans shall be prepared and stamped by a Georgia registered engineer with the appropriate expertise for review by City of Stonecrest City Engineer. Any exceptions noted by City Engineer shall be addressed. Approved plan set shall be used to secure Stonecrest building permits. Design must comply with City of Stonecrest Building code.
Electrical
Please note, all electrical work is to comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), also known as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code 70. A 120 volts AC 60 Hz electrical circuit is to be provided to each gazebo to power two ceiling mounted electrical fans and four electrical outlets suitable for powering electrical devices e.g. portable speakers.
1. Contractor shall include power connection to each gazebo to power two ceiling fans each. Ceiling fans shall be 52” Bloomfield collection (or approved equal) featuring integrated LED lighting with wall mounted control and shall be similar to image below (satin natural bronze finish shall be used).
5 | P a g e
Electrical circuit controlling fan shall have a feature which automatically de-energizes the fan after one hour of continuous use. Fans shall be UL wet rated for outdoor use IP56 rated. Alternatives to this specific model will be considered.
2. A 15 Ampere, 120 Volt alternating current (AC) circuit shall be run to each gazebo to energize the ceiling fans and provide power to electrical outlets. Contractor is to secure all permits to make a metered connection to the power grid. The associated costs will be reimbursed by the City. The City will be responsible for all associated electrical billing after final completion is achieved.
3. Four electrical outlets for powering portable audio equipment shall be provided in each gazebo structure. Outlets shall be IP66 rated, indicating a high level of waterproof protection. Outlets shall be corrosion and ultraviolet (UV) light resistant. Circuit shall be equipped with Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) technology and be covered as illustrated below:
4. A lightning rod and grounding system is required to minimize the potential damage from lightning strikes and other electrical currents. Lightning rod is to be positioned at the highest point of the gazebo for maximum effectiveness. The lightning rod is to be securely bonded to the grounding system for the gazebo.
