About this file

Attachment D is a design and specification document for the Lone Madrone Corrals Replacement Project issued by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District in California. The project involves removing existing wooden corrals and infrastructure on the Lone Madrone Grazing Unit and constructing new livestock management facilities, including processing pens, alleys, a "bud box", lead-up areas, a squeeze/chute, gooseneck and semi-truck load-out zones, and associated gates. The project has a detailed timeline, with bid proposals due by 12:00 PM on June 4, 2025, a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit on May 13, 2025, contract award anticipated on June 25, 2025, and construction scheduled to be completed by September 30, 2025. The project requires a Class B-General Building Contractor or Class C-13 Fencing Contractor license.

The bid documents include detailed specifications for wildlife-friendly livestock fencing, 6-rail pipe fencing, and 4-rail HDPE fencing, with precise installation requirements such as 30-inch post burial depth, specific rail spacing, and mounting techniques. The project includes a bid alternate for removing 4-rail wooden fencing and replacing it with HDPE fencing, and installing two heavy-duty gates. Contractors are expected to include costs for vegetation removal and site clearance in their proposals. The specifications provide comprehensive technical details for corral design, load-out configuration, fence construction, and material treatments, including requirements for pipe painting and post installation.
