About this file

This document is a Wildlife Friendly Livestock Fence and Gate Specification developed by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District for the Lone Madrone Corrals Replacement Project in California. The specification provides detailed technical requirements for constructing wildlife-friendly fencing, including materials, dimensions, and installation methods. The fencing is to be 54" tall, constructed with five strands of wire (four barbed, one smooth), using 6-7 foot steel T-posts, and incorporating specific bracing requirements for turns and corners. Gates are categorized into "Medium" and "Heavy" duty, with precise gauge, tubing, and installation specifications.

The project involves replacing existing cattle corrals and infrastructure, with a tentative project schedule running from April 29, 2025 to October 2, 2025. Bids are due by 12:00 pm on June 4, 2025, with a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit on May 13, 2025. The project requires a Class B-General Building Contractor or Class C-13 Fencing Contractor license. Bidders must submit proposals to Matthew Shapero at the District's Administrative Office in Los Altos, California, with a sealed envelope clearly marked for the Lone Madrone Corrals Replacement Project. The scope includes removal of existing infrastructure, construction of new fencing, corral facilities, and installation of heavy-duty gates, with specifications provided in various attachments.
