CMS AUDITORIUM CHAIR PROCUREMENT
STATEMENT OF WORK
June 5, 2020
Project Location
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services 7500 Security Blvd.
Central Building Baltimore, MD 21244-1850
Background
CMS has an auditorium that is located in the Central Building of the Central Office Facility. It is heavily used by CMS employees and outside audiences almost daily. The warehouse reconfigures the room arrangement as needed to suite the occupants. When the chairs are not in use they are stacked and stored in the pre-function area. The chairs that are in the auditorium and per-function area are original to the building and are 25 years old. They have held up well through the years but many are showing wear and tear due to their age and heavy use. CMS is looking to replace these with 551 chairs with arms and 21 chairs without arms. Both types of chairs will need to have wood frame construction with an upholstered seat and stacking capability.
Purpose
The purpose of this task is to replace the chairs in the auditorium including: 551 stackable wood armchairs and 21 stackable wood armless chairs.
Chair Specifications
• Armchairs must stack at least 5 high. 7 is preferable.
• Armless chairs must stack 7 high.
• Chairs should be matching models.
• High Performance (minimum 500,000 double rubs)
• Upholstered back and seat.
• Open back.
• 3” Seat padding.
• Neutral colored, Grade 3 antimicrobial upholstery or vinyl to be determined.
• Manufacturer’s Lifetime warranty for 40-hour work week and 275 lb. weight limit and shall cover all parts or components
• Maple frame. Standard manufacturer finish to be determined.
• Minimum chair width - 23”. Seat height - 18.5”.

• Chairs must be delivered assembled.
Deliverables
The chairs shall be delivered in two (2) equal installments that are spread over two weeks. The first delivery of chairs is anticipated to be 12 – 16 weeks upon acceptance of manufacturer order from awarded vendor.
General Specifications:
• Any personnel entering the CMS campus must be a U.S. citizen.
• Product to be off-loaded at the North loading dock. No installation is required.
• Warehouse hours are 8am – 4pm.
• Freight company must schedule delivery ahead of time.
