This document is a detailed specification from the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) for procuring a 6-passenger ADA accessible minivan. The specification outlines comprehensive technical requirements for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, including detailed standards for vehicle dimensions, seating capacity, performance, modifications, engine specifications, electrical systems, braking, wheelchair accommodations, and optional equipment. The specification requires a minivan capable of seating six passengers (including the driver), with the ability to accommodate two wheelchair positions, and includes specific requirements for ramp accessibility, vehicle modifications, and ADA compliance.
The specification provides extensive details on warranty terms, with a minimum 36-month/36,000-mile chassis warranty, 12-month body warranty, and specific warranty coverage for components like the alternator and lift system. Delivery expectations are set at 120 days for initial units and 180 days for remaining units, with the van to be delivered to a licensed Mississippi dealer fully assembled and ready to operate. The document requires vendors to comply with Mississippi Motor Vehicle Commission regulations, provide comprehensive technical documentation, and meet specific federal and state safety, accessibility, and quality standards.
