About this file
This document is a detailed proposal instructions template for the DARPA CoasterChase program (Broad Agency Announcement HR001125S0014), providing comprehensive guidance for submitting technical and management proposals. The document outlines a strict 20-page maximum proposal format with specific section requirements, including an executive summary, goals and impact, technical plan, management plan, schedule, capabilities, and sections on key personnel, organizational conflicts of interest, and intellectual property. Proposers must submit through the Broad Agency Announcement Tool (BAAT), with proposals focusing on developing a multimodal, ingestible sensing and stimulation platform for monitoring and modulating biomarkers of acute stress within the small intestine.
The federal grant opportunity is administered by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) under the Research and Technology Development program (CFDA 12.910), seeking innovative proposals that leverage novel understanding of the enteric nervous system and emerging neuromodulation technologies. Potential funding instruments include cooperative agreements and procurement contracts, with proposals encouraged from educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and commercial firms. The program specifically seeks revolutionary approaches to enteric neuromodulation and sensing, explicitly excluding research that only provides evolutionary improvements to existing technologies.
