About this file

This is a Local Preference Program attachment for the City of Long Beach that establishes eligibility criteria and application procedures for businesses seeking preference points in competitive solicitations. The document outlines that the City grants five extra credit percentage points to all local businesses, with an additional five percentage points available to local businesses operating from a brick and mortar or non-residential location. To qualify, a business must maintain its principal place of business within City limits, possess a current City of Long Beach business license and sellers permit (if applicable), and formally request the preference by completing Attachment C and submitting required documentation.

Bidders claiming local preference eligibility must certify their status by selecting "yes" or "no" on the form and provide copies of their current City of Long Beach business license and seller's permit showing a place of business within City limits. Applicants must specify their business license number, seller's permit number, and the address associated with their business license, and indicate whether the location is a brick and mortar/commercial/non-residential location or a residential location. Failure to complete this section or provide required documentation may result in forfeiture of local preference points. The form requires signature, printed name, and date of submission.
