UDOT is seeking to develop a five-year agency contract for snowplow equipment, with the goal of acquiring new snow removal equipment for road maintenance. The specification defines minimum acceptable standards for a 12-foot power reversing Gull wing snow plow, including detailed requirements for moldboard construction, cutting edges, safety trip mechanisms, push beam, reversing frame, hydraulics, and attachment specifications. The contract requires a pilot model to be available for inspection within 90 days after purchase order receipt, with delivery expected by November 15th at the UDOT headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The procurement includes specific pricing terms with manufacturers required to provide discount rates from original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and labor rates. The contract mandates that the winning bidder must have an authorized dealer within Utah with factory-trained personnel, maintain an inventory of high-usage parts, and provide comprehensive warranty coverage of at least 12 months. Additional requirements include providing detailed documentation, operator manuals, parts lists, and conducting training on safety, operation, and maintenance of the equipment. The snowplow must meet federal and state safety regulations, with a target weight of approximately 2,400 pounds and specifications for color (matching 2020 Mack truck orange), hydraulic systems, and attachment mechanisms.
