About this file

This document is an Attachment B Scope of Work for a camp trailer procurement by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources' Range Trend Project. The project requires a durable camp trailer to serve as a base of operations and living quarters for field personnel from mid-May through the end of August, with an expected usage lifespan of up to 15 years. The trailer must accommodate five adults with separate sleeping facilities, have a slide-out in the bunkroom, and be capable of being towed over rough terrain. The trailer must be delivered no later than May 1, 2023, with the dealer located in Utah for warranty and initial hitch setup.

Specific technical requirements include a dry weight under 8,500 lbs, length less than 37 feet, carrying capacity of at least 1,100 lbs, fresh and gray water systems of 40 gallons or greater, R-7 insulation, power stabilizer jacks, two 6-volt batteries, a minimum 200-watt solar panel, and the ability to operate off-grid for 7-14 days. Additional specifications cover tire type, ground clearance, interior ceiling height, exterior power awning, and an equalizer hitch with sway control. The trailer is intended for rugged use in mountainous environments, with emphasis on durability, storage capacity, and comfort for extended field work periods.

Attachment B – Scope of Work

Range Trend Project Camp Trailer Minimum Specifications

The range trend crew uses camp trailers as the base of operations and living quarters while performing fieldwork. Individuals live in the trailers Monday through Thursday generally beginning in mid-May through the end of August. Because the trailers will be used by the range trend project for up to 15 years or more, they must be durable. In addition, the camp trailers are lived in for extended lengths of time during the summer months and need to endure standard, everyday use for many years. Trailers must be able to be towed to campsites over rough terrain (i.e. mountainous dirt roads) without dragging bottom or having parts rattle lose inside (e.g. cabinet doors, refrigerator door, oven door, windows etc.). Storage capacity is also important. This includes storing capacities for fresh water, gray water and adequate storage space for work gear, food items and personal gear. The trailer needs to adequately accommodate at least (5) adults with separate sleeping facilities for each (five separate beds of at least 74” in length and rated at 250lbs). At least (1) slide out in the bunkroom to allow adequate room for four adults to sleep comfortably inside of bunkroom.

Dealer needs to be located in Utah for warranty/repairs and for the initial setup of the equalizer hitch to the truck that will pull the trailer.

Must take delivery of trailer no later than May 1, 2023.

The diagrams below are examples of trailer floorplans that would be suitable for the Range Trend Project.
