About this file

This document is an email correspondence between Paul Hartman and Roger Bergstrom of Fluence Automation regarding pricing for a state and local contract opportunity. The email discusses NASPO ValuePoint pricing, which is based on "Most Favored Customer" pricing, and indicates that the pricing quoted previously was the best price. The email also mentions that the NASPO contract only captures some configuration options and does not include anything custom done with software specific to a customer's site.

The related state and local contract opportunity is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Fluence Automation for postage meters repair and maintenance. The contract is for the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) for FY22. The hearing on this contract will be canceled unless an interested party submits written comments or requests a public hearing by June 25, 2021 at 4 p.m.

Paul, Yes, you are correct.

All pricing is based off specific configurations.

So basically, the price you quoted was best price?

Paul, Good morning.

NASPO ValuePoint pricing is based on “MFC” pricing or Most Favored Customer. That said we have to price everything we do with government at the same rate we would other government agencies.

Our NASPO pricing has no pricing table for maintenance because its based on configuration. Service is tied to the upfront equipment purchase and is predominantly open market as the NASPO contract only captures some configuration options, not all and definitely does not capture anything we do custom with software specific to a customer’s site.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Roger – see the ask below…I apologize this is taking so long, but each time I think we’re getting to the point of approval, another request for clarification comes across my desk. That said, is there any detail you can provide?

Sorry and thanks, Paul

Hi Paul, Can you reach out to Roger Bergstrom and ask how pricing on the NASPO Valuepoint plan for the R&M services on both machines compares to the pricing you were quoted?

Actually, if there was a pricing table from there I’d love to get a copy of it.

I am happy to reach out to him directly if you recommend.

Thanks, Jean
