About this file
This document is an Attachment B related to a farm lease opportunity for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the Ray Norbut State Fish and Wildlife Area located in Pike County, Illinois. The lease requires the tenant to follow a detailed cropping plan for 111.7 acres of farmland from 2024 to 2027, including planting specific crops like sunflowers, corn, soybeans, and wheat by certain dates. The tenant must comply with additional requirements such as not using neonicotinoid treated seeds, avoiding the use of Dicamba, and leaving 5% of crops standing for wildlife. The Illinois DNR will provide herbicide for wheat fields. Failure to adhere to the cropping plan may result in termination of the lease.
The lease payment terms are not specified in this document. The tenant will be required to pay the agreed upon per acre lease amount if a field is left idle due to weather conditions preventing the scheduled crop from being planted. The incumbent tenant is Ray Norbut. Funding for this contract opportunity comes from the State of Illinois.
