About this file
This Scope of Work document is for vehicle transportation services involving the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) and a contracted transportation provider. The contract covers pickup, transport, and delivery of used, excess, and damaged NHP fleet vehicles across three regional commands in Nevada: Reno, Elko, and Las Vegas. Services include safe loading, securing, transporting, and unloading inoperable or damaged vehicles, with Reno designated as the primary destination for damaged or excessed vehicles. The contractor must commence vehicle pickup within ten business days of request, and NHP will typically schedule transports of at least four vehicles per request, with flexibility for existing transport routes or multi-agency loads.
The compensation structure is per vehicle, with rates to remain constant throughout the contract duration and no additional fees permitted without written authorization. The contractor is responsible for maintaining all necessary state and federal motor carrier licenses and keeping transport vehicles in good operating condition. Invoicing will be completed monthly, with detailed invoices submitted to nhpfiscal@dps.state.nv.us including invoice number, date, and service date. NHP will make reasonable efforts to coordinate vehicle movements efficiently, potentially aligning with the contractor's existing routes to reduce overall costs.
