About this file

This document outlines the Special Security Requirements for Osawatomie State Hospital Facilities in Kansas. The rules detail specific security protocols that contractors and their employees must follow while working on facility grounds. The working hours are set from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with weekend work requiring special permission. All workers must check in and out daily, and the facility maintains strict controls over building access, keys, tools, and construction materials.

The security requirements emphasize several prohibitions, including no intoxicating beverages, firearms, ammunition, weapons, narcotics, or tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) on facility grounds. Contractors must secure and remove all tools daily, maintain control of building keys, remove construction debris (especially items that could be used as weapons), and ensure work areas are secured during non-working hours. Vehicle security protocols require keys to be removed and vehicles locked, with all vehicles subject to search. Photography of patients is prohibited, and permission is required for any site photography. The facility assumes no responsibility for contractor tools, equipment, or materials.
