About this file
This memorandum addresses Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) safeguarding procedures for contractors at Columbus Air Force Base. The document mandates that all contractors who will have access to CUI materials must complete Department of Defense mandatory CUI training before receiving contract materials, either through MyLearning or an attached training document. Contractors must sign and return the memorandum as acknowledgement of training completion, and they are required to notify the Contracting Officer within 72 hours of any improper CUI disclosure.
The memorandum outlines potential consequences for improper CUI material disclosure, which may include recourse determined by the 14th Contracting Squadron Commander and CAFB Wing Information Protection Office. This could involve actions such as not limited to: retaking CUI training, debarment from the base, or possible contract termination. The procedures apply to prime contractors and all subcontractors at any tier, with compliance being mandatory and Contracting Officers retaining the ability to add additional requirements as needed to meet specific contract needs.
