About this file
This is a combined specification document for the Greybull Work Center Renovations project located at 1220 North 8th Street, Greybull, Wyoming, under USFS Bighorn National Forest. The project encompasses renovation and site improvements totaling approximately 10,556 square feet across two primary buildings—the Barracks and Hotshot Office/Shop—plus site-wide enhancements. Work includes site improvements such as parking lot construction, electrical upgrades, water and sewer line upgrades, selective demolition, concrete pavement installation, aggregate base placement, trailer pad construction, and utility work. The specifications detail requirements for general site conditions at 3,800 feet elevation with winter temperatures averaging 2°F to 30°F and summer temperatures averaging 56°F to 90°F, with 6.8 inches average annual precipitation. The contractor must comply with stormwater management, erosion control, and temporary facilities requirements throughout construction.
The specifications prescribe comprehensive technical requirements organized by division, including earthwork (clearing, grubbing, excavation, compaction testing), utility work (water distribution, sanitary sewerage, trenching with warning tape and tracer wire installation), concrete work (pavement, walks, curbs with 4,000 psi minimum strength), electrical systems (service entrance, panelboards, wiring devices, grounding), and thermal insulation. Key contractor responsibilities include quality control with daily reports, scheduling coordination with occupied crew quarters (May 1–October 1), protection of existing vegetation and utilities, hazard material notification, and waste disposal compliance. The contractor must provide accident prevention plans, safety meetings, and quality assurance testing per ASTM standards. Final deliverables include as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, project record documents, and a punch list completion before substantial completion certification.
