About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details requirements for deconstructing and replacing a vertical storage unit at Altus Air Force Base. The project involves fully deconstructing the existing Modula M250 vertical storage unit, which includes disassembling the unit through bolt-by-bolt or cutting methods, palletizing components on standard forklift-manageable pallets, and placing materials in a designated gravel area. The electrical setup requires utilizing a dedicated 480V/25A circuit breaker, with the contractor responsible for running new wiring and conduit if existing infrastructure is insufficient.
The project has specific timeline and logistical requirements, including a work window from Sunday 2300 through Friday 2300, with work to begin no earlier than 30 days prior to new storage unit delivery and completion at least 2 weeks before the new unit's arrival. The contractor must coordinate scheduling to minimize base operational disruptions, maintain a clean work area daily, and handle potential hazardous materials like a CMOS battery. Deliverables include the deconstructed and palletized Modula M250, completed electrical setup for the new vertical storage unit, and a clean work area. The contractor is also responsible for obtaining necessary technical documentation from the manufacturer.

Statement of Work (SOW)
Vertical Storage Unit Requirement
Altus Air Force Base
1. Introduction
This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for the deconstruction, palletization, and electrical setup/installation of a new vertical storage unit at Altus Air Force Base. The scope includes removal and preparation of the existing Modula M250 unit, as well as electrical preparation for a new unit.
2. Work Objectives
2.1 Deconstruct and Palletize Existing Vertical Storage Unit
Disassembly: Contractor shall fully deconstruct the existing Modula M250 vertical storage unit. There is no requirement for a specific method of deconstruction; both bolt-by-bolt disassembly and cutting (e.g., with a plasma cutter) are acceptable.
Palletization: Disassembled components must be palletized on standard pallets. Pallets must be maneuverable by forklift, not over-stacked, and not oversized.
Placement: Palletized materials are to be placed outside in the gravel area adjacent to the roll-up door.
Disposal: AGE employees will handle final disposal. Contractor is not responsible for removal from the site.
Documentation: Contractor shall ensure all foreign object debris (FOD) is policed and the work area is cleaned at the end of each workday.
2.2 Electrical Setup and Installation
Power Source: The new unit will utilize a dedicated 480V/25A circuit breaker located in a shared circuit breaker panel.
Conduit and Wiring: The existing conduit and wiring are in normal condition. The conduit runs approximately 59 feet 8 inches down the bay and 9 feet from the wall, for a total estimated length of 75–80 feet including bends.
Installation: Contractor shall run new wiring and conduit as necessary if existing wiring is insufficient. All conduits shall be surface-mounted.
No Additional Components: No additional electrical components (control panels, sensors, or interfaces) require connection beyond the main unit.
3. Project Timeline and Schedule
Start Date: Work is to begin no earlier than 30 days prior to the delivery of the new storage unit.
Completion: All deconstruction, palletization, and electrical setup must be completed at least 2 weeks prior to the arrival of the new product.
Working Hours: Work may be performed Sunday 2300 through Friday 2300. No work is to be performed outside these hours.
Phasing: Contractor shall coordinate scheduling with the site POC to minimize disruption to base operations.
4. Site Access and Logistics
Staging Area: A staging area for tools, equipment, and materials will be designated during the initial site visit.
Pallet Requirements: Pallets must be of standard size and weight, suitable for forklift handling.
Cleanup: Contractor is responsible for daily cleanup of the work area to remove debris and foreign objects.
5. Special Considerations
Modula M250 Specifications: Contractor is responsible for obtaining detailed specifications, assembly/disassembly manuals, and schematics for the Modula M250 directly from the manufacturer (Modula) as needed. *The Modula M250 is the existing storage unit that needs to be deconstructed & palletized*
Hazardous Materials: The only potential hazardous material is a CMOS battery for memory; otherwise, no hazardous materials are present. The contractor shall confirm with Modula if further clarification is required.
As-Built Drawings: Contractor is responsible for obtaining as-built electrical drawings from Modula as needed.
6. Deliverables
Deconstructed and palletized Modula M250 placed in designated area
Completed electrical setup for new vertical storage unit
Clean and debris-free work area at the end of each workday
