RE-LOCATE BOUNDARY SURVEY POINTS Federal contract opportunity
Solicitation number

Issued by
Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region

About this file

This document outlines additional survey tasks that may be incorporated into a boundary survey project for the National Park Service Midwest Region. If selected, surveyors would locate rights of way, physical access to the property, apparent easements and servitudes, buildings and structures on site, fences and retaining walls, substantial features such as parking lots and signs. Surveyors would also map all water features on or near the property including wetlands. For projects in sensitive environmental areas, all work must be consistent with the natural setting. Any encroachments onto federal lands would be surveyed and noted with area or length measurements and supporting photographs.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the National Park Service Midwest Region to re-locate boundary survey points. Surveyors may be selected to perform additional delineated tasks as part of the boundary survey and provide deliverables documenting their findings.

Other Survey Tasks Attachment

If checked, the task(s) noted below will be incorporated with boundary survey project fieldwork, indicated on the plat and included with any project deliverables as applicable.

___ Rights of way and physical access. This includes visible evidence of physical access to the property (curb cuts, driveways, gravel roads, two-tract roads, pedestrian trails, railroads, etc.) and adjoining public streets or highways observed in the process of conducting the fieldwork.

___ Apparent easements and servitudes. Evidence of any easements or servitudes burdening the surveyed property as disclosed by any documents provided by NPS or any evidence of physical uses, disturbances or utility infrastructure not of record observed in the process of conducting fieldwork. These may include manholes, vents, ditches, telecommunication pedestals, or other visible utility connections or crossings.

___ Buildings and structures on the surveyed property observed in the process of conducting the fieldwork.

___ All fences and retaining walls interior to the property boundary.

___ Other substantial features in addition to the improvements and features already required (e.g., parking lots, billboards, signs, swimming pools, landscaped areas, substantial areas of refuse).

___ Water features. The location of all springs, ponds, lakes, rivers, ditches, marshes and swamps on or running through the surveyed property. Determine if any water feature is a designated wetland by the National Wetlands Inventory. Water features located outside the property within 5 feet of the property boundary will also be located.

___ The project area is located in a sensitive environmental area (i.e. designated wilderness, known archaeological area, historical district). All survey work is to be completed in a manner consistent with the natural environment as specified:

___ All areas and features of encroachment onto USA lands (examples include cleared land, mowed areas, gardens, fences, buildings, roads, trails, riprap, etc.) Note the area of the encroachment(s) as surveyed in acres to the nearest hundredth (0.01). Parcels less than 0.01 acres will be reported in square feet. The length of linear encroachment features will be noted to the nearest tenth of a foot (0.1). Photos (with information on what the photo depicts) of all encroachments will be taken and provided as a deliverable.
