About this file

This Supplemental Statement of Work (SOW) details requirements for a new communications shelter installation at Ruby Bluff in the Tahoe National Forest's Yuba River Ranger District. The project involves procuring and installing a PEPRO LLC 8'x12'x8' shelter with an integrated 52' articulating mast, specifically designed for telecommunications infrastructure. Key requirements include:

Shelter Design Specifications: The shelter must include (6) 19" equipment racks, LED lighting, battery trays, power entry panels, surge protection devices, solar panel mounting provisions, a faraday cage, and an RF entry panel with 9 ports. It must be deployable on unimproved land without excavation, anchored without guy wires, and grounded through Ufer pads. The shelter will support eight antennas (six Telewave ANT150F2 and two Amphenol BA6110-1) at various heights from 30' to 52'. Additional requirements include a roof anchor point meeting OSHA standards and compliance with TIA-222 standards. The project also involves demolishing an existing 6'x6'x8' concrete shelter and installing a customer-owned utility pole with 100-amp electrical service.

a. (6) 19” x 84” equipment racks

b. Overhead cable ladder rack to allow for the distribution of power and RF cables from their respective entry points to the equipment racks

c. Standard 8’x12’ Pepro DC lighting fixtures with LED bulbs, connected to a 1-hour rotary timer switch installed near the shelter entrance

d. (3) Rack mounted battery trays, each capable of supporting (2) Full River DC

1150-2 AGM batteries, trays to be installed in the rack nearest to the wall and Power entry panel

e. (1) Rack mounted bus bar installed in the rack with the battery trays

f. (1) Main Ground Bus bar (MGB) installed below the RF entry panel

g. (1) Filtered DC entry port tied to the faraday cage

h. (1) Filtered AC entry port tied to the faraday cage

i. Standard 8’x12’ Pepro AC power layout

j. (1) Surge protection devices (SPD) for solar array connections, SPDs shall be rated for a 48VDC Solar array

k. (1) Surge protection devices (SPD) for AC power connections, SPDs shall be rated for a use with commercial power

l. (2) Passive ventilation ports that include hoods, louvers, and screens to prevent insects from entering the shelter

m. Previsions to mount solar panels to both the roof and south face of the shelter

n. (1) Solar panel mount kit designed to work with the building attachment points

o. The door shall be installed on the South face of the shelter

p. The integrated mast shall be attached to the East side of the shelter and shall articulate to the West over the top of the shelter

q. The manufacturer shall provide (4) double 18” standoff mounts to attach (6)

Telewave ANT150F2 antennas and (2) Amphenol BA6110-1 antennas to the mast with two antennas at each of the following heights: 52’, 46’,40’,30’.

D. The shelter design shall include a faraday cage to protect the equipment from transient voltage spikes

E. The shelter shall include an RF entry panel with 9 ports, the appropriate quantity of boots and cushion inserts to support (8) ½” Heliax cables, 2 cables per boot. The RF entry port, boots, and cushion inserts shall be integrated into the faraday cage. The remaining unused RF entry ports shall be capped with covers that are integrated into the faraday cage.

F. The shelter design shall be such that it can be deployed on bare unimproved land without the need for excavation or foundation construction.

G. The shelter shall be grounded through Ufer pads placed on native surface; due to the no ground disturbance requirements a traditional ground system cannot be part of the solution.

H. The shelter shall be anchored to the land without the use of guy wires or stakes.

I. The shelter and mast system shall be designed on a site-specific basis and must comply with the current version of TIA-222. The mast system shall be designed to support the following antennas and feedlines:

a. Telewave ANT150F2, 52’, feedline LDF4-50, 18” standoff, USFS

b. Telewave ANT150F2, 52’, feedline LDF4-50, 18” standoff, USFS

c. Telewave ANT150F2, 46’, feedline LDF4-50, 18” standoff, USFS
