About this file

This document is a facility contraband policy issued by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), detailing prohibited items for all visitors and staff. The policy explicitly lists numerous contraband categories including weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, tobacco products, vape devices, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, unauthorized medications, and electronic devices such as smartwatches, cellphones, cameras, computers, tablets, and flash drives. The document emphasizes that individuals bringing unauthorized or contraband items into the facility may be subject to arrest and/or disciplinary action.

The policy requires express written permission via a Gate Pass from the Facility Director for any electronic devices prior to entry, and reserves the right for the Facility Director or OCFS policies to deem additional items as potential safety or security risks. The comprehensive list of prohibited items reflects a strict approach to maintaining facility security and protecting the environment, with clear consequences for non-compliance. The document serves as an official communication to ensure all persons entering the facility are aware of and understand the stringent restrictions on personal items and potential contraband.
