About this file
These documents are technical drawings and diagrams detailing proposed fiber optic network and camera installation plans for the Nisqually Entrance area, likely part of a National Park Service (NPS) project. The first two pages focus on the Nisqually Entrance Drawings, which outline potential fiber connectivity improvements for multiple network locations (N-101, N-102, N-103, N-301), currently served by limited 40 Mbps CenturyLink DSL. The proposed infrastructure would upgrade the DOI network, NPS Visitor WiFi, and potentially provide commercial internet to residences by installing conduit and fiber from an LCPUD fiber vault near a power pole.
The third page shows a Tahoma Woods Fiber Installation diagram, indicating a new conduit path requiring 4-2" conduits and aerial fiber to be hung from poles. A future camera installation is also proposed for the Nisqually Entrance, which would provide an expanded view of traffic conditions by positioning a camera on the LCPUD pole, offering a significantly wider field of view compared to the existing webcam. This potential camera project is noted as not being part of the current proposal but represents a potential value-added opportunity if approved and installed.

Nisqually Entrance Drawings
N-103 – Network Demarc. Conduit with fiber serves N-301 and N-102 currently. There is a vault at the approximate location shown across from N-102.
N-101 – Could be served by fiber if a conduit was installed to N-102.
N-102 – Currently has fiber served from N-301 N-103 – Could be served by fiber if a conduit was installed from existing vault Path to vault near the LCPUD power pole outside of the park. This location will have fiber available for Nisqually Entrance.
If conduit and fiber are installed from this location back to N-103 it can be used for multiple purposes.
Upgrade DOI network, currently served by CenturyLink DSL which is limited in bandwidth to 40 Mbps. This would provide far higher bandwidth and stability to the circuit.
Upgrade existing NPS Visitor WiFi to fiber, currently served by CenturyLink DSL which is limited in bandwidth to 40 Mbps. This would provide higher bandwidth and stability to the circuit.
If conduit is installed and fiber pulled to N-101 and N-103, each residence could have commercial internet.
Proposed Future Camera Installation
The Green outline describes approximately what is available with the existing Nisqually Entrance webcam. Sight distance is limited due to the curve in the road immediately past the entrance to the park.
The dotted red shows what would be available if a connection is made to the LCPUD fiber vault and power pole outside of the park. And if the park was able to lease space and power on that pole. Installation of camera would provide a far better view providing information related to traffic backups at the Nisqually Entrance.
This specific project is not being proposed in this PPR – but is a potential value addition to this connection if approved and installed.
