About this file

This Statement of Work outlines a construction project at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics (SORCC) in White City, Oregon, requiring the relocation of existing ITOPS-comm equipment from Building 232 to its third floor mezzanine. The project involves constructing a new IT closet with wood framing against an exterior masonry wall, installing comms racks and split system A/C, and running new fiber from the building to IT closet CC236.

The work must be completed within 90 days during business hours (7:00am to 4:30pm), with any after-hours work requiring COR approval. The project will be executed in phases, including completing third floor construction with fire sprinkler protection, IT racks, power sources, cooling, and security; coordinating new cabling installation with FMS/ITOPS switch move; testing new cabling and removing old cabling; demolishing first floor ITOPS case infrastructure while preserving existing phone copper and punch blocks; and removing specific fiber runs. The contractor must minimize disruption during the switch relocation and determine temporary patch cabling methods.

Statement of Work

Relocate B232 ITOPS-comm to Mezzanine

Project No: 692-24-102

Introduction

The Department of Veterans Affairs in White City Oregon is requiring a construction contract for relocation of existing ITOS-comm equipment in B232 and move it to the 3rd floor mezzanine.

New fiber will be run from the building to the IT closet in CC236. There will be a closet constructed with wood framing an existing exterior masonry wall. The closet will contain comms racks and split system A/C. .

This project entails the relocation of an existing switch which must be coordinated with FMS/ITOPS, such that existing data cabling at the current location, and the new data cabling which replaces the existing cabling has minimal disruption. It is up to the Contractor to determine temporary patch cabling as his means and methods, as the VA does not anticipate doing a “parallel build” of switches.

8495 Crater Lake Avenue, VA SORCC in White City, Oregon. Building 232 Boiler Plant.

1. Phasing:

b. Coordinate new cabling from new patch panels to existing cable port locations. Terminate new cable end to end in coordination with FMS/ITOPS switch move.

c. Test new cabling and demo old cabling.

d. Demo 1st floor ITOPS case and associated infrastructure, leaving only the existing phone copper and punch blocks in situ.

e. Demo and remove any existing fiber which only serves the homerun directly from the existing ITOPS cabinet to Server room, B210. Existing fiber which is daisy chained downstream, or which otherwise is part of a bundled set where fiber serves other locations, need not be demoed.
