PART 1 GENERAL:

1.1 DESCRIPTION:

A. Section Includes:

1. Automatic Barrier Gates.

1.2 RELATED WORK:

1.3 QUALITY CONTROL:

A. Qualifications:

1. Approval by Contracting Officer is required of products or service of proposed manufacturer, suppliers, and installers, and will be based upon submission by Contractor of certification that:

a. Installer: Approved by manufacturer of materials and has technical qualifications, experience, trained personnel and facilities to install specified items.

b. Manufacturer's product submitted has been in satisfactory operation, on three installations similar and equivalent in size to this project, for three years. Submit list of installations.

2. Maintenance Proximity: Installer shall maintain a place of business with maintenance facilities not more than two (2) hours normal travel time from project site.

3. UL and NEMA Compliance: Provide internal electrical components required as part of parking control equipment that are listed by UL and comply with applicable NEMA standards.

4. Single-Source Responsibility: Obtain parking control equipment from one source and from a single manufacturer.

1.4 SUBMITTALS:

A. In accordance with Section 01 33 23, SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA, AND

SAMPLES, submit following:

1. Manufacturer's Literature and Data:

a. Description of parking control equipment material and accessories to be provided.

b. Provide data on operating equipment, characteristics and limitations, and operating temperature ranges.

2. Samples:

a. Submit two samples of access cards and security program, illustrating size, and coding method.

3. Shop Drawings and Certificates: Indicate plan layout of equipment access lanes, mounting bolt dimensions, conduit and outlet locations, power requirements, and conformation of building electrical requirements. Provide Contractor with mounting bolt template in time for installation.

4. Wiring Diagrams: Detailing wiring for parking control equipment operator, signal, and control systems differentiating clearly between manufacturer-installed wiring and field-installed wiring.

a. Show locations of connections to electrical service provided as a unit of work under other Divisions.

5. Maintenance Data: For parking control equipment components for inclusion in Operating and Maintenance Manuals, include the following:

a. Maintenance Instructions: Provide manufacturer’s instructions for maintenance of parking control equipment.

1) Include recommended methods and frequency for maintaining equipment in optimum operating condition under anticipated traffic and use conditions.

2) Include precautions against materials and methods that may be detrimental to finishes and performance.

3) Lubrication Schedule and Information: Provide lubrication and periodic maintenance requirement schedules including parts list and parts numbers.

6. Operation Data: Provide operating data for operating equipment, including clock timer, changing security access code, and any other pertinent information required for Government operation.

7. Certificates: Quality Control Certificate Submittals and lists specified in paragraph, QUALIFICATIONS.

B. In accordance with Section 00 72 00, GENERAL CONDITIONS, submit following at project closeout: Guaranty.

C. In accordance with Section 01 00 00, GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, submit following at project closeout:

1. Project Record Documents: Record actual locations of concealed conduit and vehicle detection activators.

1.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS:

A. Coordinate placement of conduit, accessories, and power wiring to operating equipment.

B. Sequence installation to ensure utility connections are achieved in an orderly and expeditious manner.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING:

A. Deliver materials to site in original sealed packages or containers;

labeled for identification with manufacturer's name and brand.

B. Store materials in weathertight and dry storage facility. Protect from damage due to handling, weather, and construction operations before, during and after installation.

1.8 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:

A. Parking Control System: Operation at entrance and operation at exit.

B. Design: Protect against interference or damage by lightning or other electrical influence; include fuse, over-voltage protection, flash-over protection, and line filter.

C. Entry – Automatic Gate Control: Electrically operated upon insertion of pass key. Activate automatic reversing switch if an obstacle is sensed in closing motion.

D. Exit – Automatic Gate Control: Electrically operated upon detection of vehicle by sensing loop buried in pavement. Activate automatic reversing switch if an obstacle is sensed in the closing motion.

1.9 SCHEDULING:

A. Employee Gate: Automatic coded card operation, single entrance, with sliding gate same as exit gate .

1.10 WARRANTY

A. Submit manufacturer's written warranty for materials and installation in accordance with FAR clause 52.246-21.

1. Warranty: Cover keeping equipment operational.

2. Final Acceptance: Requirement for final acceptance shall be continued acceptable use of parking control equipment without a breakdown or stoppage for a period of fifteen (15) calendar days after final acceptance of project by Government.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 MATERIALS:

A. Iron and Steel Hardware: ASTM A153; Zinc coating (hot-dip) on iron and steel hardware.

B. Steel: ASTM A653/A653M; Galvanized to G90.

C. Structural tubing in rounds and shapes: A500; Cold-Formed Welded and

Seamless Carbon Steel Structural Tubing in Rounds and Shapes.

2.2 AUTOMATIC GATE:

A. Provide UL approved automatic barrier gate parking access-control system.

B. Cabinet: Cold-rolled steel sheet cabinet, welded and weather tight seams, reinforced internally with welded steel angle framing, thermally insulated to permit heater to maintain cabinet temperature to equipment operating minimum, flush access doors and panels, tamper proof hardware, weather tight gaskets, master keyed locks; furnish two (2) keys for each gate, keyed alike. Conceal mounting bolts inside units:

1. Finish cabinet, interior and exterior, with manufacturer’s standard color as indicated in Section 09 06 00, SCHEDULE FOR FINISHES.

C. Gate Control: Mechanism to open and close gate by instant reversing electric motor, enclosed speed reducer operated by self contained, plug-in replaceable controller. Design mechanism with slip clutch to prevent breakage if gate is forced, and to permit manual operation if required. Gate movement to stop and start at reduced speed. Components of zinc coated steel.

D. Electrical Components: Self-contained, plug-in, replaceable components.

Include wiring for control units, zinc plated connection box, grounded convenience outlet, switch for automatic or manual operation, switch to disconnect power unit, thermostatically controlled minimum 250 Watt heater strip with control switch and preset thermostat, and thermal protection disconnect for motor.

2.3 ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND COMPONENTS:

A. Electrical Characteristics:

1. Provide 1/3 hp minimum

2. Provide 115 volts AC, single phase, 60 Hz.

3. Provide overcurrent protection.

4. Refer to Section 26 27 26, WIRING DEVICES: Electrical connections.

B. Motor: Instant reversing motor for operation of gate. Refer to Section

11 05 12, GENERAL MOTOR REQUIREMENTS FOR EQUIPMENT, Section 21 05 12, GENERAL MOTOR REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE-SUPPRESSION, Section 22 05 12, GENERAL MOTOR REQUIREMENTS FOR PLUMBING EQUIPMENT, Section 23 05 12, GENERAL MOTOR REQUIREMENTS FOR HVAC AND STEAM GENERATION EQUIPMENT and

Section 26 29 21, DISCONNECT SWITCHES.

C. Wiring Terminations: Provide terminal lugs to match branch circuit conductor quantities, sizes, and materials indicated. Enclose terminal lugs in terminal box sized to NFPA 70.

D. Disconnect Switch: Factory mount disconnect switch on equipment under provisions of Section 26 29 21, DISCONNECT SWITCHES.

2.4 GATE AND SUPPORT:

A. Gate: Fabricate gate length as indicatedand automatic instant reversing gate mechanism that stops closing motion of gates if gate strikes an object, and returning arm immediately to open position. Equip mechanism with a 0 to 60 second variable time reset device.

B. Padlocking Feature: To lock gate in either open or closed position.

2.5 CARD CONTROL:

A. General: Provide pedestal mounted card control units to activate barrier gates.

B. Control Unit: To activate gate arm by pass key.

C. Cabinet: 0.075 inch minimum welded cold-rolled steel sheet, weather tight seams; thermally insulated to permit heater to maintain cabinet temperature to equipment operating minimum, flush access doors and panels, tamper proof flush mounted lock hardware and two (2) keys master keyed to operate access panel, weather tight gaskets. Conceal mounting bolts inside units.

1. Mount housing on a 2 inch minimum square steel tube pedestal with a curved top to receive housing, and a trim plate to cover anchor bolts.

2. Finish interior and exterior of cabinet with manufacturer’s standard baked enamel finish over primer color as indicated in Section 09 06

00, SCHEDULE FOR FINISHES.

D. Card Slot: Mount above vehicle pavement surface as indicated on drawings.

E. Coded Cards: Laminated plastic with magnetic coding .

F. Pass Keys: Supply 5 keys.

2.6 VEHICLE DETECTION:

A. Vehicle Detection: For use in temperature range of -40 to 160 F to consist of detector unit in conjunction with sensing loop to activate card control barrier gate when vehicle enters or exits.

B. Loop Wire: 14 gage, XHWN or THWN copper; loop size 48 X 72 inches.

C. Loop Groove Fill: Cold poured rubberized asphalt emulsion.

2.7 FINISHES:

A. Gate, Gate Posts and Cabinets: Baked enamel on steel, color as selected.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION:

A. Verification of existing conditions before starting work:

1. Prior to beginning installation, examine areas to receive parking control equipment. Verify that critical dimensions are correct and that conditions are acceptable:

a. Do not proceed with installation of parking control equipment until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

B. Verify that anchor bolts are ready to receive work and dimensions are as indicated on shop drawings.

C. Verify that electric power is available and of correct characteristics.

3.2 PREPARATION

Provide templates for anchor bolts and other items encased in concrete or below finished surfaces in sufficient time so as not to delay work.

3.3 INSTALLATION

A. Install parking control system and components in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and placement drawings.

B. Cut grooves in pavement surface, install vehicle detection loops and lead-in wires, and fill grooves with loop filler.

C. Install internal electrical wiring, conduit, junction boxes, transformers, circuit breakers, and auxiliary components required.

3.4 ADJUSTING

A. Prior to final acceptance of project adjust system components for smooth operation.

B. Fit and adjust hardware for ease of operation.

1. Lubricate hardware and other moving parts.

2. Readjust parking control system and components at completion of project.

3.5 CLEANING

A. Clean metal surfaces promptly after installation, exercising care to avoid damage to coatings. Touch up damaged shop-applied finishes as required to restore damaged areas.

B. Follow recommendations of manufacturer in selection of cleaning agents.

Do not use cleaning agents containing ammonia or other compounds that might damage finished metal surfaces.

3.6 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

A. Tests:

1. Test operating functions in accordance with manufacturer’s printed checklist.

2. Correct defects revealed by tests. Retest corrected areas until functions are operating properly.

3.7 DEMONSTRATION, TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE

A. Instruct Owner’s personnel in proper operation and maintenance of parking control equipment. Train personnel in procedures to follow in event of operational failures or malfunctions.

B. Acceptance: At completion of project, and as a condition of acceptance, parking control equipment and systems shall be operated for a period of

15 consecutive calendar days without breakdown.

3.8 PROTECTION:

A. Protect parking control equipment finished surfaces from damage during erection, and after completion of work until final inspection and acceptance.

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SECTION INCLUDES

B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Providing sole source for design, engineering, manufacturing and warranty claims handling.

B. Installer Qualifications: Trained, certified and approved by manufacturer, with documented experience on similar projects.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

LOADING DOCK EQUIPMENT

A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.8 WARRANTY

A. Warranty: Provide manufacturer's standard warranty.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 HYDRAULIC DOCK LEVELERS

A. Hydraulic Dock Levelers:

1. Dock leveler(s) shall be fully hydraulic with a wall-mounted, push button control station. The power unit shall be a 1-1/2 Hp, self-contained, unit installed on the dock leveler frame.

2. Hydraulic functions will be controlled by a hydraulic manifold.

3. The lip shall be self-retracting. The lip hinge will be a full width, piano style with a full width hinge pin. The lip hinge will be welded to a high tensile headboard. The rear hinge design will be a full width, fixed style.

4. 18 inches (457 mm) lip length.

5. The deck design will accommodate canted trucks/trailers up to 4 inches (102 mm).

6. Working Range: Dependent on application and dock leveler length. Designed to maximize the above and below level service range while maintaining a safe incline and decline angle of the deck plate.

7. Dock leveler(s) shall be equipped with full range toe guards, night lock, hydraulic fallsafe and a maintenance stand.

8. The lift cylinder shall be top-fed and forward-positioned behind the headboard.

9. Two molded rubber bumpers shall be provided.

10. Dock leveler(s) will have paint finish.

11. Size: Recess size for Dock Leveler – 6’x8’.

12. Capacity: to be selected by Architect.

LOADING DOCK EQUIPMENT

2.2 VEHICLE RESTRAINTS

A. Vehicle Restraint:

1. Vehicle restraint(s) shall be a non-impact design with an operating range of 10-1/2 inches (267 mm) to 28-1/2 inches (724 mm) and a restraining capacity of 32,000 lb

(14515 kg). Operation shall be manual using an operating

T handle. The design shall also include a heavy-duty, removable steel guard. Vehicle restraint(s) shall have

Pentalift gray finish.

2. Provide weld plate for cast in concrete installation.

3. Provide cantilever /extension mounting plate.

4. Provide zinc plating.

5. Provide manual communication system.

2.3 DOCK BUMPERS

A. Dock Bumpers: Two per dock leveler.

1. Type: Molded and shall be made of nylon cord reinforced rubber compound. Mounting holes are shall be recessed to prevent damage.

a. Size: 4 inches D by 10 inches W by 18 inches H (102 mm D by 254 mm W by 457 mm H).

2.4 DOCK DOOR SEALS

A. Compression seal pads mounted to the exterior at dock door openings, with vent pockets, tapered bottom edges and integral guide stripes for trailer alignment/positioning with door opening.

1. Basis of Design: Loading Dock Supply LLC Z Series

“Superwedge”.

2.5 CONTROL PANELS

A. Interior Wall Mount Station: NEMA 12 interior wall mount control station with high visibility interior signal lights are coordinated with exterior signal lights with simple instructions, selector switch and amber light with override mode.

1. CSA certified for the design and manufacture of industrial control equipment.

B. Combination Control Panels: Combine the controls for loading dock equipment including vehicle restraint systems, hydraulic dock leveler, overhead door, and inflatable dock shelter into

a single common panel to ensure proper use and sequencing of equipment for increased safety and ease of operations.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

Mark certifying compliance with applicable standards.

B. UL Certification: Provide electric and fuel-burning equipment and components that are evaluated by UL for fire, electric shock, and casualty hazards according to applicable safety standards, and that are UL certified for compliance and labeled for intended use.

4. Insulation: 101 mm (4 inch) minimum foamed-in-place polyurethane with manufacturer’s rated “K” factor of not more than 0.15, free rise design of not less than 27 kg per cubic meter (1.7 pounds per cubic foot), or in-place density of not less than 32 kg per cubic meter (2 pounds per cubic foot).

Provide floor screeds with minimum of 63 mm (2-1/2 inches) of foamed insulation.

5. Door Panel and Door:

a. Provide channel thermal breaker type reinforcing steel frame around the entire perimeter of the door opening.

b. Door to be an in-fitting flush-mounted type with dual flexible blade wiper gasket on the bottom, and a replaceable magnetic gasket on the top edge and along both sides.

c. Provide heated, double glass view windows in refrigerator doors.

d. Door to be equipped with a minimum of three (3) hinges, for rough usage including aluminum diamond plate on inside of door panel and frame to a height of 915 mm (36 inches).

e. Provide hydraulic exterior door closer to prevent slamming and assure secure closing.

f. Door hinges and latch and strike assembly: Manufacturer's standard, self-closing cam-lift type hinges, for 1219 mm

(48 inch) door, chrome plated or polished aluminum finish, made to provide for locking, but with an inside safety release mechanism to prevent anyone from being locked inside when door is locked from outside.

g. Concealed, energy use selective, anti-sweat heater wire circuit: Provide sufficient heat to prevent condensation and frost formation at the door jambs and exterior edges of the door on all sides.

h. Thermometer: Manufacturer's standard, 50 mm (2-inch) minimum diameter, dial type, flush mounted in door panel.

6. Pressure relief port: Provide for all freezers operating at

18 degree C (0 degree F), or lower, two-way type ports, to allow for an increase or decrease of air pressure on the interior of the freezer to equalize with air pressure on the exterior. Provide ports with automatically controlled, UL approved anti-sweat heaters. Complete device to carry UL Label and be assembled ready for connection. Install port in a wall panel away from the direct air stream flowing from the coils.

7. Floor Panels:

a. Floor Panel Strength: Capable of withstanding 28.7 kPa

(600 pounds per square foot) uniform load.

b. Provide prefabricated floor panels of the same construction as wall/ceiling except with 1.9 mm (0.78 inch; 14 gauge) galvanized skin, sealed watertight. Provide nonskid floor strips 101 x 915 mm (4 x 36 inch) and field apply at 305 mm

(12 inch) spacing in all aisles. Furnish two (2) sets of erection tools, compatible with fasteners, with each unit.

D. Wherever compartment dimension exceed clear-span ability of ceiling panels, provide I-beam support on exterior of ceiling or spline-hangers. Install 13 mm (1/2 inch) diameter steel rods through beam/hangers and secure to structure above. Beams or posts within compartments are not acceptable.

E. Rub rail wall protectors: Manufacturer’s standard, at floor line of walls exposed to traffic.

F. Lights: Provide high-efficiency rated LED lamps in vapor-proof fixtures with safety shields. Lighting must conform with UL 1598.

Provide diffuser and driver capable of operating in minus

23 degrees C (10 degrees F) temperature. Lights must run full length of walk-in starting 610 mm (24 inches) from front panel and extending within 610 mm (24 inches) of back panel. Run between shelf rows to obtain 323 lux (30 foot-candles) at floor level regardless of any interior furnishings. Provide light switch to control lighting.

2.3 CONDENSING UNITS:

A. Comply with ARI Standard 520. Air cooled, water cooled or combination air/water cooled type as shown in construction

documents. Condenser to be able to handle 7,000 BTUh load capacity at 20 degrees F suction temperature with an ambient temperature of 100 degrees F.

B. Provide motor driven 1-hp integral compressor, motor starter, condenser, receiver, common base, and safety/operational controls.

C. Receiver capacity not to be less than 125 percent of system refrigerant charge.

D. For units racked above each other and for units installed in a closet, provide a factory fabricated steel rack extending approximately 1143 mm (45 inches) above the floor.

E. Do not locate compressors on top of refrigerators or freezers.

F. Provide positive oil lubrication and oil level indicating device for each compressor. Provide water regulating valve for water cooled unit.

G. Compressor Motor: Squirrel cage induction type of ample size for continuous operating at maximum compressor performance. Provide inherent protection, in compressor terminal box, for each phase of motor.

H. Pressure Switches: Automatic reset low pressure switch, and automatic or manual reset high pressure cutout.

I. Air Cooled Condensing Units:

1. High efficiency type piped and automatically controlled to operate at lower head pressures during low ambient temperature conditions. Designed and weather-proofed for outdoor installation, to operate satisfactorily at winter ambient temperatures down to 15 degrees F, and be provided with crankcase and receiver heaters.

2. The condenser fans are to be driven by permanent split capacitor motors.

2.4 UNIT COOLERS:

A. Comply with ARI Standard 420. Units to be UL listed, forced-ventilation type. Provide integral defrosting, internal or external refrigerant distributor, single or multiple fans and motors, drip-pan, deflectors, aluminum or baked-enamel steel

housing, hangers, and all accessories. Unit coolers for kitchen walk-in units to be NSF approved.

B. Motors: Permanent split capacitor type in accordance with

Provide motors with thermal overload protection and manual starting switch.

C. Drain Pans: Galvanized sheet steel. Provide additional drain pans under uncovered refrigerant connections, and interconnect them with main drain pan. For freezer units provide electrically heated drain pan.

D. Defrost Provision:

1. Refrigerators: Defrost to occur during compressor off cycle with evaporator fan running continuously.

2.5 MONITORING ALARM SYSTEM:

A. Provide an electronic monitoring and alarm system for each section of each unit.

1. System Components: Detecting thermostat, master control panel, interconnecting wiring, remote audible alarm, and defrost compensator. Provide dials showing temperatures and pilot lights, warning lights, switches, transformer, and buzzer, all as a part of the master control panel. Locate master control panel and remote audible alarm as indicated on construction documents. Provide power fuse to protect system components.

2. System Operation: Set alarms at 5 degrees C (10 degrees F) above and below specified operating temperatures.

B. Personnel Alarm: For each unit, provide separate audible alarm system operable from inside unit, for use of personnel unable to exit unit. Locate remote audible alarm where indicated on construction documents.

2.6 EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A. Refer to Section 23 05 11, COMMON WORK RESULTS FOR HVAC.

B. Identify all walk-ins, refrigeration equipment and alarm devices.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION:

A. Assemble walk-in units and install refrigeration equipment as described in the respective manufacturer's instructions. Make

panel joints tight and seal all panel penetrations to prevent condensation or frosting.

1. Unit cooler: NSF approval requires that the unit be suspended at 90 mm (3-1/2 inches) minimum distance below the ceiling to allow cleaning the top of the unit cooler.

2. Mount pipe, conduit, and instrumentation on the exterior and pass thru neatly drilled penetrations to the lights or other devices.

B. Piping, Pipe Insulation and Refrigerant: Provide in accordance with Section 23 23 00, REFRIGERANT PIPING.

C. Controls Installation: As specified in Section 23 09 23, DIRECT-DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HVAC.

3.2 REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER START-UP, AND PERFORMANCE TESTS AND

INSTRUCTIONS:

A. Initial Start-up and Operational Test:

1. Provide all lubricants and accessories before initial start-

up. Start and operate all equipment.

2. Follow the manufacturer’s procedures and place the systems under all modes of operation.

3. Supplement initial charges of lubricating oil to assure maximum operating capacity.

4. Adjust all safety and automatic control instruments. Record manufacturer’s recommended readings hourly.

5. Operational tests must cover a period of not less than three

(3) days. Submit operational test report.

B. Test Reports: Submit the final field test reports for each system tested, describing test apparatus, instrumentation calculations, and equipment data based on industry standard forms. Include in data:

1. Compressor and air moving device ampere readings.

2. Power supply characteristics, including phase imbalance, with

1/2 percent accuracy.

3. Thermostatic expansion valve superheat-value as determined by field test.

4. Sub-cooling.

5. High and low refrigerant temperature switch set-points.

6. Monitoring alarm system.

d. Secure shade cloth to rollers to prevent wrinkling or folding, and on line parallel to axis of rollers so that shade hangs plumb.

e. Secure shade cloth with zinc-coated steel or stainless steel machine screws spaced not over 228 mm (9 inches) on centers.

f. Do not attach shade cloth to rollers with tacks.

g. Provide hem bar of extruded aluminum for entire width of shade band. Heat seal hem bar on all sides to prevent removal.

h. Provide eyelets with clear openings large enough to accommodate cords, without cutting into cloth when set.

i. Provide cords of sufficient length to permit shades to be drawn to bottom of opening with ends looped and held with cord rings.

1. Locate rollers in level position as high as practicable at heads of windows.

2. Install shades to prevent infiltration of light over rollers.

3. Where extension brackets are necessary for alignment of shades, provide metal lugs, and rigidly anchor lugs and brackets.

4. Place brackets and rollers so that shades do not interfere with window and screen hardware.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 PLASTIC LAMINATE:

A. NEMA LD 3.

B. Exposed decorative surfaces, both sides of cabinet doors, and for items having plastic laminate finish. General purpose Type HGL.

C. Cabinet Interiors Including Shelving: Both of following options to comply with NEMA LD 3 as a minimum.

1. Plastic laminate clad plywood or particleboard, MDF (excluding shelves).

2. Thermafoil.

D. Backing sheet on bottom of plastic laminate covered wood tops. Backer

Type BKL.

E. Post Forming Fabrication, Decorative Surface: Post forming Type HGP.

2.2 PLYWOOD, SOFTWOOD:

A. Prod. Std. PS1, five (5) ply construction from 13 mm to 28 mm (1/2 inch to 1-1/8 inch) thickness, and seven (7) ply for 31 mm (1 1/4 inch) thickness.

2.3 PARTICLEBOARD:

A. CPA A208.1, Type 1, Grade M or medium density.

2.4 MEDIUM DENSITY FIBERBOARD (MDF):

A. Fully waterproof bond conforming to CPA A208.1 and CPA A208.2.

2.5 HARDWARE:

A. Cabinet Locks:

1. Provide where locks are indicated on construction documents.

2. Locked pair of hinged door over 915 mm (36 inches) high:

a. ANSI/BHMA A156.5, key one side.

b. On active leaf use three (3) point locking device, consisting of two (2) steel rods and lever controlled cam at lock, to operate by lever having lock cylinder housed therein.

c. On inactive leaf provide dummy lever of same design.

d. Provide keeper holes for locking device rods and cam.

3. Door and Drawer: ANSI/BHMA A156.11 cam locks. Provide one (1) type for each condition as follows:

a. Drawer and Hinged Door up to 915 mm (36 inches) high: E07261.

b. Drawer and Hinged Door: Pin-tumbler, cylinder type lock with not less than four (4) pins or a UL 437 rated wafer lock with brass working parts and case.

c. Sliding Door: E07161.

4. Key locks differently for each type casework and master key for each service, such as Administrative.

a. Key drug locker inner door different from outer door.

b. Furnish two (2) keys per lock.

c. Furnish six (6) master keys per service or Nursing Unit.

5. Marking of Locks and Keys:

a. Name of manufacturer, or trademark which can readily be identified legibly marked on each lock and key change number marked on exposed face of lock.

b. Key change numbers stamped on keys.

c. Key change numbers to provide sufficient information for manufacturer to replace key.

B. Hinged Doors:

1. Provide doors 915 mm (36 inches) and more in height with three (3) hinges and doors less than 915 mm (36 inches) in height is to have two (2) hinges. Each door is to close against two (2) rubber bumpers.

2. Concealed Hinges: BHMA A156.9, Type B01602, 170 degrees of opening, self-closing.

3. Fasteners: Provide full thread wood screws to fasten hinge leaves to door and cabinet frame. Finish screws to match finish of hinges.

C. Door Catches:

1. Friction or Magnetic type, fabricated with metal housing.

2. Provide one (1) catch for cabinet doors 1220 mm (48 inches) high and under, and two (2) for doors over 1220 mm (48 inches) high.

D. Drawer and Door Pulls:

1. Doors and drawers to have flush…
