CAUTION

• In blind areas, use a drill stop to prevent damage to underside equipment. If the edge margin of any associated part is 1.5D or less at any time during the stop-drilling process, contact the local system engineering authority for further repair instructions.

• During drilling operations, exercise care to avoid damage to wiring and any components in adjacent areas. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment and/or loss of aircraft.

• When installing service loop, maintain no less than a 3 inch diameter loop to prevent exceeding bend radius of wiring. Ensure service loop is installed so as to maintain clearance from moving parts/flight controls. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment and/or loss of aircraft.

• Variations in accordance with standard maintenance practices are permissible, provided the intent of the technical order is accomplished.

• Complete review of this TCTO is recommended before starting modification/installation.

• Refer to TO 1-1A-14 for aircraft electric/electronic wiring practices.

a. Prepare aircraft for safe ground maintenance in accordance with TO 1H-60(H)G-2-1.

b. Prepare aircraft for modification as follows:

(1) Disconnect aircraft battery in accordance with TO 1H-60(H)G-2-1.

(2) Depopulate center console in accordance with TO 1H-60(H)G-2-13.

Do not remove the Embedded GPS (Global Positioning System)/INS (Inertial Navigation System) (EGI) No.1 mount. The EGI No.1, on Aircraft Modified by TO 1H-60-996, is a vital navigation system. If the EGI mount is removed and reinstalled, optical alignment is required to realign the mount to the aircraft axis by a Depot Field Team in accordance with current drawings. Failure to comply will cause inaccuracy in the navigation system and possible injury to personnel and damage to equipment.

(3) Remove EGI No.1 on aircraft modified by TO 1H-60-996, in accordance with TO 1H-60(H)G-2-13.

(4) Remove Command Instrument System (CIS) Processor in accordance with TO 1H-60(H)G-2-13.

c. Install ROVER 6 System on the USAF HH-60G helicopters in accordance with drawings listed in paragraph 5.1.5.

Ensure ROVER 6 Software Version 3.3.3 is installed.

d. Reinstall equipment removed in steps b.(2) - b.(4) in accordance with applicable technical orders.

e. Connect aircraft battery in accordance with TO 1H-60(H)G-2-13.

f. Perform acceptance test procedure in accordance with paragraph 7.2 step a. prior to normal operations.

g. Perform disturbed systems operational checks in accordance with paragraph 7.2 step b.

7. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION.

7.1 Fuel System Defuel/Purge. Defueling/purging of the fuel system is not required prior to accomplishing this TCTO.

7.2 Operational Checkout Requirements.

a. Operational checkout of the ROVER 6 System shall be accomplished in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedure (Document D1022229) prior to normal operations.

b. Perform all disturbed systems operational checks in accordance with applicable Technical Orders.

7.3 Weight and Balance Information. Documentation of the weight and balance changes resulting from accomplishment of this TCTO is required per TO 1-1B-50. The following is the weight and balance summary of installed and removed items due to this TCTO.

7.3.1 Chart A Entry Information:

• Update Weight and Balance Chart A and Chart C utilizing Aircraft Weight and Balance System (AWBS) Mod Wizard. Access https://awbs.hill.af.mil and select the Air Force tab. Select HH- 60G from the drop down menu. Select files and documents. Download the TO 1H-60-1075 Mod wizard.

• When a Chart A entry is required and an aircraft inventory is not accomplished, the date of the entry must be placed (in pencil) in the item description column of Chart A. Marks in the “IN AIRCRAFT” and “CHART C ENTRY” columns of Chart A are made only at the time of a complete aircraft inventory.
