This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a fire door replacement and fireproofing project at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. The project involves replacing 24 existing doors across three floors of the Chief of Mission Residence (CMR) with fire-rated wooden and metal doors that meet both U.S. and Spanish/European fire safety standards. Specific requirements include installing doors with fire resistance ratings of EI2-30 and EI2-60, self-closing mechanisms, panic bars, and compliant hardware, along with fireproofing measures such as sealing wall penetrations and applying fire-resistant insulation to ceilings.

The project is divided into two contract line items (CLINs): CLIN 1 for door installation (70 days) and CLIN 2 for fireproofing (30 days), with a total performance period of 100 calendar days. The contractor must provide design submittals within 10 days of notice to proceed, with an estimated 45-60 labor days for wooden door fabrication. Key standards include NFPA 80, NFPA 101, EN 1634-1, and the Código Técnico de la Edificación (CTE). The work includes maintaining aesthetic consistency, protecting existing facilities during renovation, and ensuring comprehensive fire safety improvements throughout the residence.
