• Install the proper height floor stand for the chiller and reconfigure the existing floor to accommodate the installation of the chiller.
• Install and upgrade the line and load circuit system including all wire, conduit, and breakers of the new system. Upstream breakers need to be assessed for capacity and adjusted for additional load. The power is to come from Electrical Panel CRM (located in the data center) this panel is fed from the ME panel (located in electrical closet GA01-1) which is fed from the E2 panel (located in electrical closet GA01-1).
• The new chiller is to use the existing piping tied-in to the hospital chilled water system that is feeding the two existing data center chillers. The tie in to the hospital chilled water is located in Mechanical Room GD 15-1 and being fed through the wall to the Main Computer Room GD13- 1.
• The new chiller will need to include controls and indications that are back-net compatible with Johnson Controls and will need to be integrated to the Medical Centers existing Johnson Controls System.
The second component is to balance the electrical loads on the data center power distribution units and installing two circuits and receptacles for future use by the medical center. The requirements are outlined below.
• Balance the electrical loads on all phases between the two data center power distribution units.
• Install 1 triple pole single throw 30 amp 120/208V circuit breakers in PDU # 1 and 1 triple pole single throw 30-amp circuit breakers in PDU# 2. From each of the circuit breakers supply and install all conductors, conduits, and outlet boxes necessary to install one 30 A 120/208V distribution circuit (3L+N+G) with upsized neutral supporting one NEMA L21-30R receptacle.
These 2 receptacles need to be located under the floor in the “Future location of FDS Servers” as noted on 35% drawing.
• Normal working hours for this contract will be from 7:00AM to 4:30PM (local time) Monday through Friday except for weekends and established Federal Holidays. Phasing of the construction will be necessary to reduce periods of disruption to the best extent possible and avoid disruption of patient care. After hours work will be required on the project to avoid disruption to direct patient care activities. Power outages will be limited to weekends or after hours. Power outages shall not last longer than four (4) hours. If outage is projected to last longer contractor will supply temporary power to effected equipment.
Period of Performance
The proposed period of performance of 212 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed
(NTP) includes 90 calendar days for design and 122 calendar days for construction. Listed below is a summary of milestones throughout the design-build process.
• Notice to Proceed (NTP) – D-Day
• 35% Submission – D+20
• 65% Submission– D+40
• 95% Submission – D+ 60
• 100% Submission – D+80
• Documents Complete – D+90
• Submittals Begin – D+90
• Construction Notice to Proceed – D+100
• Construction Completion – D+192
• Commissioning – D+202
• VA Acceptance – D+212
The proposed schedule is not accelerated and should not impact price. There is time built in the schedule for government reviews and review meetings. If the time for review is not sufficient or a milestone is missed by the government or the contractor, the schedule will shift to the right.
Existing Site Conditions: It is recommended that a site walk be performed before construction. Failure to completely verify existing conditions affecting the project will not be used as justification for monetary change order. The work is located at the VA medical Center campus in Salt Lake Utah. The expectation of the VA is no asbestos abatement should be necessary for this project; however, this assumption is to be validated by the Contractor through site investigation prior to construction
