About this file
This document contains a pricing model spreadsheet and details for a solicitation seeking a safety clothing direct purchase program. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking to establish annual contracts to provide personal protective equipment including shirts, pants, reflective vests, jackets, parkas/rain coats, watch caps, and safety shoes for their employees. The spreadsheet models initial purchase costs and annual replacement costs for two types of employees over multiple contract years. Type 1 employees require more clothing items and have greater field exposure than Type 2 employees. The total estimated number of employees to be outfitted is 200. No pricing is included as the solicitation is for a direct purchase program where the contractor provides clothing items on demand rather than at an all-inclusive price. The contractor must also account for item replacement on varying schedules depending on the item. This solicitation appears aimed at establishing standing contracts for an ongoing safety clothing program to outfit FERC employees as needed.

| Key and explanatory remarks: |
| Annual replacement percent is used to calculate PPE item replacement schedule and develop an annual cost to replace initial purchase items |
(Hot Weather) does not include any cost for items marked with an "N" under the Hot Weather Column
The average cost between "a" and "b" type employees is used to calculate total Type 1 and Type 2 cost due to inability to predict needed number of RX safety glasses
The initial purchase year item count designates what it take for a individual filling that role to be fully resourced and effective in the field. The clothing items have a lifecycle to them but FERC does not anticipate or expect full replacement every year. In Option Periods FERC estimated an associated total reoccurring/replacement dollar value that the employee can spend on replace items as needed or acquire new approved clothing that meets their needs.
Difference between type 1a and 2a employees: Type 1 and 2 is based on the work that they due and the hazards they may be exposed to. Type 1 employee are more routinely in the field (hence the greater clothing item count) and may experience greater hazards.
